About Krash Course Studios

Krash Course Studios was originally built by Sacco in 2005 as a private studio for personal projects and artist development. Although the studio as never had an official opening date, Sacco has started to record and produce local and national acts as of 2007. As previous studio manager of Phase 4 ( Phase 54 ), Sacco was inspired by the awesome quality of the sound and construction of Phase 4 which made it truly one of the top recording studios in the world.

Krash Course Studios went under a reconstruction in 2007 and 2008 opening up three more rooms. In all the studio maintains six tracking rooms.
1) Live room
2) Dead room
3) Acoustic room ( No other studio in the state matches this room for acoustic guitars and strings. And also a great vox room )
4) The Vegas room A ( multi purpose room used primarily for a live amp sound )
5) The Vegas room B ( multi purpose room used primarily for a dead amp sound)
6) Vocal Booth

Unlike most studios, Krash Course studios went a different direction in the design. Our rooms were built for sound encasement and tone. Tone is the greatest and most powerful aspect of the studio. It’s true when we say that “ our scratch tracks sound better than most studios finished products “ Before the studio was first laid out, the collection of gear had been in the process since 2004. Sacco went a different direction with the gear because of the growing problem that has plagued the recording business. Everyone sounds the same! The solution to the problem was design of the rooms and completely custom gear that you can’t get anywhere else. In addition to the gear, tracking is done utilizing both custom analog and digital consoles at the same time for massive tone and extreme clarity.
Gear list: -------------- ( this list will never be complete because upgrades and mods will always be a continuing effort )

1) Audio Upgrades 24 channel mixing console built by world renown Jim Williams: previously owned by the Carlos Santana band.
2) Custom modded Mackie 824’s reference monitors certified by THX: previously owned by Skywalker studios
3) Large array of custom tube mic pres modded by Sacco: most tubes are from the 1950s’ and 60s’
4) large array of outboard compressors: Some previously owned by Glibly Clark and not quite sure about the modifications that were done.
5) Custom Mackie dm-24
6) Standard studio mic collection
7) Protools

When shopping for a studio you need to remember that there are a million ways to get it wrong when recording but every instrument has its’ sweet spot, you can have 300 tracks running in a session and every track can have its’ place in the mix. And last which is the golden rule of recording ( which most engineers and producers have forgotten or never learned )…………….. “ Do No Harm “ …………………………..

Krash Course studios has been built with approach of local artist in mind. Originally the studio was developed and built as just a place for musicians to hang out and exchange ideas ( and party of course ) and record. The studio consist of a live room and dead room, an amp room for guitars, an acoustic room, and control room. Any of the rooms are used as vocal booths depending on the style and tone of the singers. Along with all the industry standard recording software, the studio has the ability to record using both of the customized digital and analog consoles.
