The albums second single, "Smashed Up" b/w "Live Coverage," which blends the raucous rhymes of Jaysaun and G-Squared over a DJ Revolution beat was a huge street hit last fall after making the Cornerstone mix tape by DJ Lazy K. It also reached ..8 on the Rap Attack and ..10 on the RapNetwork.com charts. .. Live Coverage features guest appearances by lyrical heavyweights GURU, Cappadonna, Krumbsnatcha, Rob Jackson, and EDO G. Production on the record is shared by Kreators own G-Squared, DJ Revolution, Pete Rock, and Arabian Night. .. This Boston click has been putting it down for a minute. Formed back in 1998, MCs Jaysaun, XL, Big Juan (then signed to Atlantic) and producer G-Squared (nominated for Juno/Canadian Grammy Award) met in their early 20s. All up-and-comers in Bostons hip-hop scene, the four had undeniable chemistry and decided to join forces. .. The Kreators quickly broke ground with their critically acclaimed EP in 1998, Lost Pages on the RAF Indie label. In '99, the Kreators followed up with their debut LP No Contest, which garnered critical acclaim from media outlets such as The Source, Urb, MTV, among others. Whats more, their first video, "Foreign Lands", was given a 4 mic rating and was chosen as the best underground video for 1999 by MTV's Flying Indie program that aired after the 1999 MTV Music Awards. .. Shortly after, they released the 12 single "Home," which made it to no. 2 on the HITS Rap Attack chart, beating out tracks from acts such as Tha Liks, Eve, Jadakiss, and Camp Lo. The single made it to no. 1 on the Insomniac chart, as well. .. The Kreators have been nominated for Hip-Hop Group of the Year by the prestigious Boston Music Awards for three consecutive years. In addition, the group has opened for rap icons Nas, Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, RedMan, Method Man, Snoop Dog, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, the Wu Tang Clan, and a host of others.
