About me: Hi everyone and welcome to Kree8tive Comics. We are a group of artists (Kevin Day, Pete McDaniel, O'Neil Lawrence and Negash Davidson) who came together to create graphic novels based in Jamaican folklore and culture. We just wanted to reintroduce Jamaican folklore in a way to spark curiousity and interest. We only hope you can appreciate and enjoy our views on them and the ways in which we have tweaked them. Our first attempt in this ground breaking new direction is entitled "The Children of O". The O stands for Obeah or Voodoo or the dark arts as it's sometimes referred to. Mind you though we are not using this book as a means to preach the use of Obeah on anyone or thing all it was used for is a reference to the unexplainable in our lives, the "magic" and the term used for that in our culture(Jamaican) is Obeah. Now this book is based on a boy named Adey who through unfortunate circumstances has become possessed by a spirit known as Anansi. In Jamaican folklore Anansi was used to tell stories to children and was perceived as a regular trouble maker a trickster. Being possessed by this spirit the young boy is then sent to a school that teaches children endowed with mystical abilities how to use them. And it is here that our Story begins. So check our blogs, have a read and prepare to take a look at Jamaican folklore and culture like you've never seen it before....
