“In an era in which fast, loud, and urgent seems to rule the radio, the duo known as Quaker City is not afraid of the adjective ‘folk.’ Indeed, lead singer Kree Evans, with her plainsong approach to interpreting a lyric, proves that lilting doesn’t have to be lazy.” – Jimmy Fowler (Fort Worth Weekly)
...walks, wine, yoga, libraries, long drives, geraniums, my kids at school-who wear me out and lift my heart-NPR, wood floors, screen doors, traveling, cooking, gardening, listening, the moon and stars, old guitars, chocolate, pancakes, good talks, slow coffee, rain, warm sun like honey, cool evenings, sunsets, laughter.
"The best art and writing is almost like an assignment; it is so vibrant that you feel compelled to make something in response. Suddenly it is clear what you have to do. For a brief moment it seems wonderfully easy to live and love and create breathtaking things...In a sense, these are assignments -- in the same way that the ocean gives the assignment of breathing deeply, and kissing instructs us to stop thinking." Miranda July
