KreuzDammer (German for ‘Cross of the Damned’) were formed during the Summer of 2004 when Graham Rayner, founder of seminal industrial legends Cubanate, joined forces with vocalist Dave Chapman (Punishment State) and guitarist Rich deValmont. Constrained by the technology that surrounded them, further elements were bolted to the band in the form of bassist c0rvu5r3x and Viru5 on drums, a conscious move designed for the band to wrestle greater control over the tortured industrial rhythms that exist within themselves.
Influenced by such luminaries as Killing Joke, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM and Ministry, KreuzDammer bludgeon metal, electronica and attitude to devastating effect. But performance has always been at the heart of the KreuzDammer ethos, and the band have built a ferocious reputation for being an explosive and highly polished live act. Their live shows frequently include a myriad of lasers, projectors, strobes, enough dry ice to conceal a W.M.D. and plenty of blood!
Having gigged extensively during 2005 and early 2006, the band holed up with ex-Cubanate vocalist Marc Heal at his Fortress studios in London to record a debut EP. So incendiary were the early tracks that resulted, KreuzDammer were signed to London alternative label Armalyte Industries before recording had even be completed.
Released in September 2006, ‘Shot Down In Flames’ has received universal critical acclaim and KreuzDammer are currently plotting a major tour and press campaign to raise the profile and appreciation of their unique take on modern alternative metal.
