   About Krezip
Krezip has been one of the top pop/rock bands in the Benelux for several years now. Founded as a schoolband, the quintet from Tilburg, Holland, made their astonishing debut in 2000 with the album Nothing Less that sold over 300.000 copies. They chalked up two big hitsingles with Wont Cry and I Would Stay and were the youngest band to ever play Hollands Pinkpop festival. The single I Would Stay became the most successful single of the year 2000 in The Netherlands; over 100.000 copies were sold and the song had the most airplay on the radio. In Belgium the single went platinum too and was the best sold single of 1999 there. The debut album topped the Dutch Album charts and went triple platinum. The band won several prizes: a Zilveren Harp, an Edison award and several TMF Awards. In 2002 they released Days Like This, which was gold at release. This album contained the hitsingle You Can Say. Krezip has gained a cast-iron live reputation, thanks to their headlining tours and several appearances at renowned festivals in the Benelux like Noorderslag, Lowlands, Werchter and the aforementioned Pinkpop. Apart from several sold-out tours in the Netherlands, Krezip successfully toured Germany twice, where they played to capacity crowds in a.o. Berlin. Back in Holland Krezip supported Bon Jovi in the Amsterdam Arena, while furthermore supporting Sheryl Crow at several of her shows in Germany and France. The fall of 2003 saw the band embark on an acoustic tour, that was later released on CD and DVD. At the start of 2005, immediately following the recording of What Are You Waiting For, Krezip went to Ethiopia, on request of NOVIB / OXFAM, in support of a campaign promoting education in Third World countries. 2005 A new label, a new drummer and new producers: to say its been a turbulent year for Krezip would be an understatement. But as is often the case, exciting times lead to the best results. And this is certainly true for What Are You Waiting For, the third studio album. With a brand new contract with SONY/BMG under their belts and a fresh, crystal clear production courtesy of the Australian duo/couple The Wizardz of Oz, Krezip enters a new era in their already shining career. The year before, singer Jacqueline Govaert met Liz Hooper and Andrew Bojanic, a.k.a. The Wizardz of Oz, in L.A., and wrote several songs with them. That collaboration turned out to be so fruitful that the band decided to invite the duo to Holland to oversee the production of the album at the Wisseloord Studios. For this album Jacqueline, who used to write most of the songs alone, travelled abroad to work with other songwriters. Her journey brought her to L.A. and swinging London, where she found new inspiration and experiences. What Are You Waiting For marks a turning point for the band. The album offers a new sound, but still manages to sound like Krezip, with a host of dynamic punkpop songs and beautiful ballads. The album satisfactorily caps a frantic year for the six. Jacqueline thinks the band has gained a lot from the changes over the past year. As a band, we have come to realize that we will always be Krezip, whatever happens and whoever we work with. That makes us feel strong. If someone else can make that feeling even stronger, thats great, but we definitely dont depend on it. an album full of gripping songs, Krezip is sounding fresher and more mature than ever. Krezip just finished their successful 15 venue club tour in the Benelux. In between their Benelux tour Krezip played at the Popkomn in Berlin what was leading now for their club tour in Germany. 2006 In may Krezip visit the 6 main media cities in Germany (Berlin, Frankfurt, Dresden, Cologne, Munich, Hamburg) for there What are you waiting forclubtour with success, Cologne and Berlin were sold out! Cause of this success the band will return in September to do an other club tour. This time they will visit Bonn, Krefeld, Trier. Also Krezip will be playing in Kesselhaus,Berlin during the popkomm and they will play at the new rehperbahn festival. After their German club tour in September they band will be working on a new album which will be release early 2007.
