Influences
In no particular order and probably missing out many. Henry Buckle (love you bloke) Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young as a group and individually, Buffalo Springfield, The Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, J.J Cale, Beck, Cream, Buddy Holly, Fleetwood Mac, The Human League, Bowie, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Japanese Chillout, John Martyn, Kate Bush, joni mitchell, Judee Sill, Nick Drake, Santo & Johnny, The Small Faces, Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Yes, The Troggs, Medieval Songs & Dances. I'll add more as they come to me.
Born into a musically talented family Kris’ father – Henry Buckle – had been a New Faces winner (think ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ 40 years ago), was signed to Mercury Records in the mid 70s and enjoyed huge success in the US and Canada, where he was to tour with young ex-Faces singer Rod Stewart. A later arrival was step dad Steve ‘Froggy’ Howlett – the renowned and respected Radio 1 and Capital Radio DJ, widely acknowledged as introducer of the art of turntable ‘mixing’ and scratching to the UK club scene.
Born in Barking, Kris picked up his first guitar aged 6 and found himself worshiping Chet Atkins, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. As with so many ‘creative’ types, it was probably the discovery of smoking materials unrelated to tobacco which moved him to discover the attic delights of his Dad’s yesteryear heroes stumbling, doubtless pink-eyed, upon the likes of Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, The Beach Boys and many others which continue to influence his music today.
Kris has received a very enthusiastic initial reaction from BBC Radios 2 & 6 Music, BBC TV’s Later and The Word, Acoustic Guitar and fROOTS magazines. The first single from the album ‘All those days’ backed by video set in Epping Forest is promised to be the first of many offerings.

Nice things people have said:
The guy's a poet, he’s gonna go far!

Homer Simpson and I have a lot in common we’ve both been in space, we have both had angry mobs carrying flaming torches in our front gardens and we both worship sweet, sweet beer. So when a track starts with a bottle being opened and drink being poured that’s going to get my attention. What’s even better is Kris Buckle’s, “Taste Like Fruit,” it’s a funky blues number with tricky guitar playing and a harmony heavy chorus, the perfect accompaniment to drinking. As Kris sings, “this life doesn’t get much better,” It doesn’t Kris it doesn’t. You’re my besht mate you are.

Yeah man - really good stuff - a load better than most of the stuff I hear on myspace - and obviously a mike chapman fan too which is always a good guitar look.
‘Restless’ and ‘Tastes like fruit’ are my faves - tight harmonies and great playing man!
'Fink'
An extraordinarily talented guitarist! Most of Kris Buckles songs need no other musical addition other than his soft, endearing vocals.
