Bob Giusti, George Dussault and I made these recordings...
"The Kris Hansen Kollective" is Bob Giusti/Richard Ribb/Kris Hansen and anyone we decide to play with. George Dussault, MC, Matty from Grow and Spogga all have played with us. The Kollective is not a set unit but a set core with changing performers.
Influences
We tend to enjoy a good and well written song. These are the artists that do it for me; Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Jeff Tweedy, Iron and Wine, David Bowie, Harry Nilsson, Pink Floyd up till and including,"The Final Cut", Pixies, Jane's Addiction, Blind Melon, Bobby Womack, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Al Green, Unsane, Clutch, Butthole Surfers, Ween, Colin Hay, Ani Difranco, Ottis Redding, Doors, Brian Wilson, Cat Stevens, Art Garfunkel can sing, Neil Young, Old Jazz like, Parker and Miles; Classical music, Bach and Beethoven; I like old hip hop/nothing after the 90's, Biggie, Krs1, SugarHill and Crew. Music is all good to me, It's sad when it isn't. How you can judge this? well, can you play it by a camp fire? If you can your doing it right! Just so you know, Jon Tierney and I can play tons of hip hop by a camp fire! yup! Try us!
I am a song writer. I am a music maker, an optimist with a pessimist's devotion. I'm the man of my house, getting it done. I have a daughter and now a son. It is and goes...
I was brought up in Scituate and Providence RI. I wrote my first song, "Monday Mornings:O)",when I was 5 years old. I played my 1st show when I was 14. I got into doing sound @ a local club when I was 18, the same club my partner and drummer worked at. I spent most of my years working sound and not doing anything with my own music. Prior to working with Bob Giusti, I had played in a few bands around Providence, The Rhode Apples, The Problem and Signal 2 Noise. Those bands were short lived. In may of 2001 I suffered a brain aneurysm @ the age of 23, just a month and a day before my 24th birthday. I had a one in a million shot of living. I am thankful to have survived. I am alive and that is where my music is born from. It's the here and now; not a happy jingle jangle but a real way of life as I see it. I am an optimist with a pessimist's devotion to optimism. Everything could happen and everything might not. Whatever happens, I will follow through! XO

Kris! How've you been??? Sorry I'm still mia. I'm moving- well, in the process. My car was hit by a deer. We're ok, the deer isn't. My car is out of commission for another week. Not cool. Anyway, let me know how things go. Peace.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
