"The poet must achieve balance between solitude and solidarity, between feeling and action, between intimacy of one's self, the intimacy of mankind, and the revelation of nature." ~Pablo Neruda
There's nothing more exhilarating than the simple beauty of nature, and nothing more relaxing than taking a Sunday drive with my camera in hand to capture that beauty in the stillness of invigoration.
I love the company of a good book, filling my mind with new, and I love to write, opening the door and allowing all the thoughts contained within the walls of my mind to pour onto each page - Poetry, short stories, and Romance novels. I also enjoy drawing. Creativity, there's no better drug...
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." Lao Tzu~
Music
Imagine for a moment a world without music. How would we survive? "Music in the soul can be heard by the universe." Lao Tzu~
I've never met a guitar riff I didn't like. I love all genres of Rock (a list from AC/DC to Zebra), Jazz and even Classical, but I can't do Rap or (most) Country. I still love the 80's Top 40 (Top 40 was still music then), and anything I can shake my butt to works for me.
Movies
Anything that makes me think, laugh or cry is worth the ten bucks, forty if I buy popcorn and a soft drink. Comedy, suspense thrillers, mindteasers and action - no gory horror flicks unless they're the classics from the 70's. Gotta love John Carpenter...
So many favorites, but to name just a few: The Pursuit of Happyness, Hope Floats, Patch Adams, Scent of a Woman, The Doctor, A Time To Kill, Heat, It Could Happen to You, Dances With Wolves, A Bronx Tale, The Pelican Brief, Shawshank Redemption, Powder, The Black Stallion, The Elephant Man, Born on the 4th of July, Full Metal Jacket, To Kill A Mockingbird, Mask, Untamed Heart, Bed of Roses, About Last Night, Regarding Henry, Stella, Star Wars series, Frequency, Bye Bye Love, The Mirror has two faces, Deceived, The Fugitive, Bye Bye Love, Office Space, The Big Lebowski, Chevy Chase-Christmas Vacation, Charles Dickens-A Christmas Carol(has to be the black and white version), Fools Rush In, Shallow Hal, The Wedding Singer.
Television
Not one to sit in front of the tube (flat screen) all that often, but when I do, Ghost Adventures, American Justice, Forensic Files, The History Channel, Bio, Discovery, Cooking and Travel, Comedy Central, and Fox News. And mindless channel surfing is quite entertaining after a long day too.
A fan of BUGS BUNNY, is a friend of mine. The rabbit just rocks...
Books
Pretty much anything with a cover, and always open to suggestion. But to list a few favorites, Keats, Emerson, Eliot, Poe, Twain, Shakespeare, Hemingway, Frost, Blake, William Wordsworth, Elizabeth Browning, Mary Wollstonecraft - Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Paul Auster, Chuck Palahniuk, Patricia Cornwell, Nicholas Sparks. One of my favorite books to date...
Heroes
My dad, for fighting as long and hard as he could. My Grandpa John, for making me the center of his world while he was here. My Grandma Ginger, who has always supported me in every way. She always said, and still does, "You wanna be smart? Read, read, read." And, I do. All our soldiers. The victims, and fallen rescue workers of 911 and their families. Anyone who risks their lives for others. Those who say what they mean and mean what they say.

"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see." John Burroughs~
I could giggle for a living... Fun, in any form, is what I'm all about. If it isn't a wild ride, it just aint a ride. Life is too serious to be taken too seriously, and too short not to eat a sleeve of Oreos with a quart of chocolate milk.
I believe this life owes us nothing. We take the hand we are dealt and press forward, responsible for acquiring our own paths, truths and happiness.
My life revolves around my family and friends, the greatest gifts this life affords us. I love to laugh hard and often. I'm deep, yet silly, passionate in everything I do, as honest as I can be, empathetic to a flaw and loyal to those who reach my heart and wish to remain there. I like discovering who's out there in a world as big as ours.
Born and raised in New York near a city of eight million, I've learned that everyone is unique and has something to say. Much lies behind a smile, a few words or even just a glance. I'm willing to listen, learn, experience and share.
A restless spirit, I like to keep busy; reading, writing, school, travel, camping, hiking-anywhere there's a view, movies, Broadway shows, concerts, horseback riding.
I love the sun on my face, the ocean at my feet, bubble baths, animals, blueberry coffee, cherries and apple pie. I abhor Sushi, liver, lima beans and presumptuous.
"It is not length of life, but depth of life." Ralph Waldo Emerson~ Our minds are the oceans of discovery, and I want to learn something new every day. That's what this journey is all about.
My aspirations are improving my skills as a writer, publishing more of my work and future works, acquiring more friends that I can laugh and share with, and trying not to devour too much time discovering the meaning of this vapor we call life.
"At the center of your being you have the answer; You know who you are and you know what you want." Lao Tzu~
Good Lord, enough about me...if you've made it through the gate, who are you?
Who I'd like to meet: In no particular order...Jesus Christ, but not right this moment. My fleet of guardian angels. Stephen King. Those who will inspire, enlighten me, and make me laugh. And all our soldiers returning home (they're paying the tab for our freedom) so I could shake their hands, give them a hug and say with all my heart, Thank you for your sacrifices, for holding our freedom so safely in your hands. Welcome home.
