About me:

Paper poet with butterscotch vox savvy enough to slick-talk you into wanting to read. Also collagist who creates most frequently on paper, canvas, cardboard, and custom-made journals. Sometimes I teach -- poetry and visual art to beautiful teenaged knuckleheads, hardrocks, preps, goth-children, gangbangers and activists in the making. Founder of susan rose productions, a small business of original collages on tee-shirts, sketchbooks and journals. Co-founder of 6 Skirts, a collective of six Chicago artists and designers, 2nd Sun Salon (w/ Duriel E. Harris), and Tres Colony (with Sandra Ivelisse Antongiorgi & Shirley Alfaro). One half of the poetic/musical collaboration of Krista Franklin and Alison Chesley (a.k.a. Helen Money, electric cellist mastermind, former member of Poi Dog Pondering.)

Who I'd like to meet:

People who still go to the library. People who are obsessed with obscure and brilliant writers, artists, educators and activists, can talk about them ad nauseum, and simultaneously be charismatic, toss back a couple of cocktails and remain coherent. People who are interested in creating artistic communities and sharing resources. People who have a love for music and the musicality of language and wordplay. People who play instruments, write, read, teach, laugh often and have a knack for locating money and opportunities to make it.

    this is my art + design blog - its fulla plenty of graphic junk and other various forms of eyecandy. enough ish to keep you just pre-occupied at work long enough to not get a good performance raise...

    Girl...Life has feeding my ass to me hand over fist.This year has been awful and I'm finally surfacing for air...good clean, soul deep air. With some clarity and new sense of self and new vision of ME. I've been dealing with difficult shit,baby...dark things that I didn't know where still haunting me.They found me, though. Glad they did. It's cleansing me...and I'm finding KELLEY again.

    And it's good.
