Rising star of the Australian Music Industry is Musician/ Singer/ Songwriter, Kristal Collins has just returned from the beautiful Norfolk Island now holding the prestigious title of the Trans Tasman Entertainer of the year for award for 2009.
Kristal has had an amazing journey throughout 2008; A graduate of Camerata (school of music). having the opportunity to record a professional three-track EP with Darren Mullan (Q.E.M Studios) and perform with Multi-Golden Guitar Award winner Trev Warner, Rob Galley and the Galley Slaves (NZ) Pete Jenkins and Patrick McMahon, in show both in S.A and Interstate such as the McLeod’s Daughters Farewell Party with Bec Lavelle and Midnight Mountain Blue, Norfolk Island Country Music Festival, Royal Adelaide Show, Royal Melbourne Agricultural Show, The Woolshed on Hindley, The Promethean, The Governor Hindmarsh, The South Australian Stampede and many more!
Kristal has spent the last 4 years building a strong and firm foundation for a long-lasting career in the Contemporary Country Music Market. 2008 Senior Champion of Champions which has seen her represents South Australia as a guest for the Queensland Champion of Champions.
She spent two weeks in the CMAA College of Country Music January 2009, which has a cap of only 22 students from all over Australia and New Zealand each year. The College has seen the start of many successful careers including 2008 Toyota Star Maker S.A Talia Whitman, Lee Forster, Samantha McClymont (The McClymonts), Hamish and Lachlan Davidson (the Davidson Brothers) to name a few. Kristal will be working with respected musicians from all over Australia.
Last month was an exciting month for this musician as she accepted two state awards, The People’s Choice Award and APRA Traditional Country Song of the Year for her original composition “Not worth the Time”. Kristal later found out that she was a Semi Finalist in the Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) and will attend the TSA Awards.
Kristal’s brilliant vocals, vibrant personality and luminous stage presence are infectious; leaving her audiences wanting more. Her exceptionally bright and bubbly personality has won her many admirers and friends on and off stage and her dazzling smile is remembered by all. Kristal states “I love to make people happy. If people walk out at the end of any of my shows with a smile on their face and in some way I have helped them forget their troubles just for a little while then I think I’m doing alright!”.
