    ."What's going on" That is the song that resonates most with LLF, as that is the daily question. War, greed, crime, love, compassion, and desire...all things we face in today's world. What are we gonna do about it?? LLF does what they do best: Write about it, sing about it, and get the word out. It's not all gloom and doom though, the message is HOPE. Hope for the goodness of the human race to shine through, hope for change and most of all hope for love. Led by Berklee College of Music graduate, Kristen Long, LLF combines folk, southern roots, jazz and pop music to create a unique sound of their own. Kristen's roots are in New England, being a trained opera singer since age 12, then stemming off into blues, rock, folk and jazz, she brings a theatrical yet raw feel to the songs and lyrics she writes, on keys and vocals. "Salty" Walt's ability to play rhythms and feels from around the world create an amazing drum/percussion experience, even breaking out the washboard at times!! James Cook on guitar/vocals brings the flavor of the South to the mix with his driving delta blues rhythms, aching slide guitar, and relevant lyrics. Together a sound like no other ensues and this trio of misfits...makes it fit!!

Bio:

Kristen has been writing and performing her music for the past 10 years. A Berklee College of Music graduate, she attained an amazing education in music and was lucky enough to study along side some of the most talented musicians of today. She's been heard at CBGB's NYC, singing the National Anthem for the Florida Marlins, and has appeared on several stages throughout the country. Shoebox Memories, her first album, was recorded in Nashville, TN in 2002. Walt Brewer and Kristen Long teamed up in 2007 to form the core of LLF. Walter Brewer has been drumming all his life and has been seen on stages throughout the country. He's played in several bands, including, the Dead Valentines, with whom he played Sunfest and opened for the Mighty Mighty Bostones. The Dead Valentines also recieved quite a bit of radio airplay in the South Florida area. LLF is happy to have made Gulf Shores, AL their home and is currently in the works on a new album.
