Backbone Youth Arts is calling for Queensland’s next wave of artists.
The annual 2high Festival is on the hunt for young and emerging artists. Musicians, visual artists and performers are invited to apply for the 2008 festival lineup. The call out has officially commenced!
The 2high Festival is presented by Backbone Youth Arts and will return to consume the Brisbane Powerhouse this November 7th and 8th.
2high Festival is the opportunity for young artists to showcase their work in front of a large audience. Backbone’s Artistic Development Coordinator, Andrew Cory, has been working with the team of festival coordinators to put the feelers out for Queensland’s best emerging talent.
“2high provides artists with their chance to perform at a well known event in a prestigious venue. But beyond that, it gives artists and audiences a chance to fully immerse themselves in the energy of the festival, and realize just how strong the Brisbane arts scene is.”
Because 2high is open to young and emerging art forms, the festival has attracted an extremely diverse array of acts in the past.
Whatever your art form, Backbone Youth Arts encourage you to apply. Artists can apply by downloading an application form at http://www. backbone. org. au/2high. htm or contacting 3210 2666 for more information. Applications close 5pm Friday 1st August, 2008.

Well in answer to your questions, I'm at the Indooroopilly store for the time being, however, I have to come through the city to get home so I'll definately come and see you play and I'll buy you a coffee in thanks of you buying me one. I am stil blonde but missing the try-hard Karen O days. How about you, living on the Gold Coast, are you soacking up some rays and perving on life savers?? eh eh?. I just listened to your tunes and I must say if you can produce that on a $0 budget, give you a dollar and you 'd be hired and working in London beofre you could say 'Kristen Haynes is the greatest'!!
