Kristi's music is a blend of melancholy folk melodies and raw feminist emotion. Her main influences are female folk and rock artists, particularly Ani DiFranco and Doria Roberts. Check out Kristi's newest album, Say Hello, available now.
Kristi has performed at many venues and events, including FloydFest, Roanoke Pride, Hollins University's Folkfest, Blacksburg's Take Back the Night, the 2007 WUVT Women's Month Concert, and No Shame Theatre. To order a CD or book a show, email kristiemmons@hotmail.com.
"Kristi has been playing on sidewalks around Blacksburg for a few years now, serenading unsuspecting passersby with politically charged acoustic angst-rock. The melodies are catchy and the message is conscious. If you dig Ani DiFranco, you'll dig Kristi Emmons."
-The Roanoke Times MusicCast
"Vocals are mellow, clear, concise, and pretty beautiful. It's an innocent quality and comes out in the lyrics to the song also. You would work well on any bill with Ani DiFranco, Jewel, some girl bands with pop appeal. You'd probably do well with country too...the melody is slow and steady and works well with just guitar and voice. If this is all one person, doing the singing, playing, and songwriting, then you have a package that is unstoppable. I'd say play in as many places as you can and get out there and get noticed because it won't be long and you'll be right up there where you're headed already..."
-Damien Lucas [Valliant, Oklahoma]
"ACOUSTIC GUITAR has a clean sound, played nicely. Not just the same old strumming pattern. VOCALS are soft, clean, work their way into your heart kind of vocal. They rock my world. Sexy, savvy. MELODY is excellent, original, not just following the chords, but weaving their way in between...
I'm very interested in hearing more of this artist. Keep up the great work!"

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
