My name is Kristina Bradford, I have just turned 23 and I am a singer/songwriter from the East Sussex in the UK! I have been working in the industry now for about 5 years and have had some fantastic opportunities which I am very grateful for, and have always been interested in music and dancing from a very early age…so here’s a little bit about me!
I started out singing Karaoke in my local pub and was then asked by all the locals to put a gig together. On my first gig the whole town came to support me, it was advertised in all the local papers and in the local shops! From this exposure I was spotted and invited to perform with ‘Maximum Leisure’, a company who run Roadshows for major label artists and major entertainment events www.maximum-leisure.co.uk where I toured the UK performing covers and original tracks and was also asked to gig as a duo cabaret act with David Byrne who is UK’s number one Del Boy impersonator act.
After the tour I was professionally gigging solo every weekend in pubs, wine bars, for clubs and private functions performing original tracks and covers building a strong name/reputation with clients!
As well as performing cover songs all over the UK I have performed, written and worked in the studio with some top UK name artists and producers over the last 5 years. Credits to my name include: supporting Lemar, G4, 911 the Cheeky Girls and more at shows around the UK including performing at Bowood House through Maximum Leisure; Co-producing my original songs with UB33 Productions (co-writers of ‘Flip Reverse’, no. 1 hit for UK group Blazing Squad); being invited to write material with K-Warren (Who has had a no. 1 UK Garage hit with ‘Something in your eyes’); Recording jingles with Allan Murray (Sky Sports) which have aired on BBC Radio 1, Capital FM and other south-coast stations and singing live on Southern FM Radio station with Terry Garroghan for his show ‘search for a star’ and Seahaven FM promoting the launch of the South Coast’s new station.
After working on my original material in my spare time I put together an album of original tracks and built a music myspace webpage, www.myspace.com/kristinabradford which attracted producers and employers in the business from all over the world, from Radio stations in Australia, Studio companies in LA, offered function gigs in the UK and much more…
Through myspace a company called SEB Collective www.myspace.com/sebcollective contacted me. I was then invited to perform my original tracks and covers in London’s top venues, Soho Revue Bar in Soho and also at Sound, (biggest club in Leicester Square) and Jo Mac’s ‘Pop-Rocktick show’ in Earls Court. Through this I met some amazing artists which enabled me the opportunity to write and perform duets with artists such as JNay (UK’s Mobo award winner for best unsigned act) and performing original tracks with Tony Laf (Britain’s got Talent www.tonylaf.com).
I have also had the pleasure of performing at some fantastic Charity gigs such as Cancer research UK for Breast Cancer, events such as Gay Pride and raising money for kids sports clubs alongside ‘Chelsea old boys’ football gig in Essex and St Mary’s School East Sussex for children with special needs.
After performing solo I decided it was time to get a full band behind me to pursue my dream of music. I then met Vitalized where I performed with them all over the UK as a 4/5 and even 6 piece function band.
As a 4, 5 and 6 piece the band consisted of 6 vocalists, 2 guitarists, 3 Keyboardists, 2 Bassists, Sax, Drums & Clarinet… condensed into one 5 piece Function & Party band! I was lead vocalist and also played keys and sang BVs for some songs. With the band together we catered for various events from small wedding receptions to large corporate functions, also performing at Haven Holiday Parks and Princess Cruises.
I have just returned from performing on the brand new Ruby Princess Cruise Ship –the newest ship in the Princess fleet! I was lead vocalist fronting a 5 piece band and also playing keys. This was truly an experience of a lifetime cruising the Western Caribbean and Mediterranean working together with some amazing musicians and production team on the ship. We were the Ruby’s resident band in the Explorers Lounge, but we also got to perform an unplugged set once a week in the Wheelhouse, in Club Fusion for 70’s/80’s night, at Champagne Waterfall in the Piazza/Atrium and at Island night/deck party. I have also had the pleasure of performing with pianists on the Ship in the Adagio and Crooners bars and with some other 4 piece bands, with billboard/Vegas’ Tony Tillman and some of the orchestra and also performing tracks with guest entertainers band Icon.
My repertoire consists of anything from 60’s up to date and I am always learning new songs. I have a very mixed genre of music including country, pop, soul, blues, rock and roll, jazz, RnB, Cabaret. My own material is mostly RnB based but everything is original and from the heart with a different edge!
I am a very active person and love to have fun, to dance and go to the gym, and be pro-active in my job. I am very hard working and dedicated to my job. I am always willing to learn new songs and styles and bring out the best of my voice!
As well as singing I also have experience in teaching aerobics and working with children at Alfriston Primary School in East Sussex teaching sport as part of my CLSA award. Up until October 2008 I was also PA to a Partner in the firm of Rix & Kay Solicitors LLP for 4 years working in WTP providing excellent customer service and much more.
So this is just a small part of me….there is much more to come and I have a lot more to give! ;)
