Björk meets Cyndi Lauper somewhere over the rainbow
Although Kristin Frogner has not yet released her second album FOLLOW THE BUTTERFLIES, track 2 from the album, With You Again, has already received a song placement deal on the popular American ABC Family drama television show: Samurai Girl.
Kristin’s debut album JUST ANOTHER GIRL, was released in Norway and later in the US, available at Renaissance Records or Amazon. The album first came out in Norway 2005, find it on iTunes. The music video from the first single, Stars Above My Head, held the number 1 spot for three weeks on the MTV Up North.
Kristin is enthusiastically praised for her sound and songwriting because she effortlessly combines styles while thoroughly succeeding in avoiding formulas. The songs she writes all ring true, and her audience feels that. Her voice fits the stories it tells.
Kristin’s guitar playing is honest and straightforward and her onstage charisma creates an instant rapport with her audience. Her concerts across Norway were always fan-frenzy events, and she was a featured guest and played live on Norway’s largest and most influential television and radio programs.
Kristin’s background is as compelling as her songwriting. Born in the small town of Asker, Norway, tri-lingual in English, Norwegian, and Italian, and with dramatic training from London’s Royal Academy of Arts, Kristin became the main character on the popular Norwegian television show Hotel Cesar. After three years, the eclectic and talented Frogner left the show, lived in Bali for a year and then returned to her artistic roots—music and art.
From there, her successful debut album was born. Never one to be pigeon-holed, Frogner is currently finishing an intensive sculpture atelier program in Florence, Italy. Her pieces are included in collections across Europe.
In Spring 2009, Kristin will be featured on Italian television, where she will perform selections from FOLLOW THE BUTTERFLIES.
