I previously went to bali like 12 years ago with my family, and my memories were pretty vague. But I just had these pictures in my head of what I remembers and the locals could tell me their formal names and where they are.
I felt that in bali the majority of people came in groups and the age ranges from 17 to 25. But then again.. I wasn't hanging around with any couples so I wouldnt have probably noticed them anyways.
But if you and jayden are keen to go. I dont think there is much point in dragging a heap of other people because you guys seem pretty tight.
dont worry about jayden being under age. no one checks for id over there. for example...matt.r decided to bring his sister clubbing with him and shes only like 15.
and yes i would love to catch up. the ionly problem is, im working a fair bit, due to all the spending i do eg travel, move house, etc. ...and when im not working I tend to be running around doing a heap of things that arent really planned, they just happen. such as concerts, hanging out with mates etc. which is good i guess.
but that is awesome that you can most likely go to the art vs science gig. I plan to sell out that concert for em! hahaha. plus the norfolk basement is a wicked venue.
and thanks for your msg about tonight. Im going to see butterfly effect and dead letter circus at metro city tonight, but Im driving, so I might come past yours on the way home.
when we arrived i checked out our room and i wasn't impressed. it was pretty basic with only one sink and a room that had both toilet and shower. the plumming was pretty bad... for example if one person had a shower straight after the other the bathroom would flood and if a third person had a shower it would over flow into the rest of our room.
the out side was nice, with a 24hr pool side bar, big pool with many poolside beds. plus a beauty pala with good massages for 65000Rp which is about $7.
but although the rooms didnt seem that great at first after the 2nd day it felt ok and you some how get used to it and it's all good. haha
location: you will want to stay in kuta. sure its noisey as fuck but its really convenient because everything is walking distance and you dont have to bother haggling with taxi drivers.
places to go:
Kintamani volcanoe -heaps of restaurants overlooking the amazing view of the volcano and tropical forest and a good feed.
Monkey temple -this place is the culture centre of bali. its a really nice temple with thousands of monkeys. its fun, but beware if you get bitten by a monkey you must go to hospital and get treated!! because if you dont there is a possibility that you can die of rabies! I know it sounds fucked up...but its true.
The Bounty nightclub -a place were you get 2 bowls of cocktails for $6. theres all kinds of fun to be had there, but those cocktails do give you bad hang overs. and be prepared to wear a few cuts and bruises after the foam party.
the beach -it looks rank at first but its actually quite nice and you never know what you might find in the ocean. i found 50 000Rp.
Surf -theres all kinds of waves to surf from beginner to murder. if you like beginner try legian or kuta beach. if you like waves that are strong enough to rip you in half try uluwatu.
snorkeling -believe it or not, snorkeling is awesome in bali. theres a few
Yeah this weekend looks to be fairly boring.. Apparently that thing with Jaiden tomorrow night and I may go out with Simon and Co. afterwards.. Into Northbridge to a Sheisha bar =P
Otherwise yah, it looks like it will be pretty quiet.

Weekend was alright, friday bren and i hung out at his place, saturday went to luch with his parents and his grandad, sunday went and saw family at then went to dads to see that side of the family, then bren came over and we just chilled and watched movies, then today just slept in and then went back to mums place
yeh im good. i've been a hermit just this past week, because I got 4 wisdom teeth out on monday and my face was the size of a beach ball.haha. so lots of jelly and ice cream came my way. haha
I went to birds of tokyo last friday and met the band which was sweeett. then I went to Vfest on sunday. that was awesome. The Kaiser chiefs and the killers went off with fireworks and all! I loved it.
And yes im definitely there all weekend for fairbridge. going to be good times all round.
I think we are in the riverside paddock, but no matter where i am, im sure i'll run into you and we can catch up and have some fun.
