Hi! I'm Kristy.

I joined myspace in order to blog alongside the atheist community. I received such a warm welcome here that I already feel right at home. I'm new to blogging but you'll find some of my thoughts on atheism above.

I'd love to meet intelligent people who are interested in serious (and maybe not so serious) discussions. I don't need people to agree with me, but I'm sick of forums where people who find themselves without a decent rebuttal or any evidence to hold up their case revert to personal attacks. Aaaaaargh!

People (OK, Americans) who only know me from the internet would probably describe me as that raving left-wing loony Aussie who hates Americans and is going straight to hell because she doesn't believe in god: Not all Americans, of course, but a certain 'kind' of American certainly finds my views outrageous and objectionable.

My real friends realise I'm a lot more conservative and a lot less scary and intense than I sound on the internet. The only things that really rile me are unprofessionalism, injustice, stupidity, cruelty, meanness, intolerance, narrow-mindedness, racism, sexism, homophobia, religious fundamentalism and blind rampant nationalism. Other than that, I'm a total pussycat.

I'm working on being an atheist at the moment after a flirtation with spiritualism and a long time sitting on the fence as an agnostic. Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have a lot to answer for!

My emergent atheism is driven by a deep concern about the danger that religious fundamentalism (or perhaps any religious belief) poses to our world.

American nationalism is another concern. I love Americans but the minority (geez, I hope it's a minority) who think any American who criticizes America is a traitor and any foreigner who criticizes America is on the side of the terrorists (and probably the anti-Christ as well) scare the life out of me! Let me add that I've had many lovely emails from many lovely liberal-minded Americans who share my view. I'm anti-stupid, not anti-American.

I did my post-graduate thesis on the rise of Celtic identity in 20th century Australia, and my interest in Celtic culture, history and music endures.

Having found a family connection to some rather famous Vikings, I'm slowly completing research for a novel about them. It's slow going and I admit, I'm procrastinating about getting on to the writing phase.

If the above all sounds a bit heavy-going, I'm really not just a boring, self-absorbed intellectual. REALLY I'm not! I love popular culture, and I try really hard to keep up with modern music, movies, and technology. I love a wine or six, good food, bawdy (but not filthy) humour, lolling around in the sea on a sunny day, picnics, musical theatre, singing silly songs, making dreadful puns, and doing whatever I can to help good people and good causes.

My greatest joy is cooking. It's my hobby, my creativity, my meditation, and my passion. I'm no food snob though. I'll eat KFC and a McDonald's breakfast quite happily! I love eating out, but, sadly, I find most restaurants are a disappointment - I'm sure some chefs never actually taste what they send out. Luckily, there are some fine exceptions, and I love getting together with a big group of friends and having a long, boozy lunch.

IGNORANCE TRULY IS A DISEASE.......CHARLIE IS AT IT AGAIN!  I think it's time I record that diss record. Stay tuned!!
Also, this confirms his music is hate rap and every atheist must stand up and be opposed to this, even if you are straight, like myself. If you can stomach it, click on the link and see this garbage for yourself.

    Hi Kristy.

AK isn't too well right now and I saw some info that I think she'd want to share with you. Reginald Finlay, The Infidel Guy, is hosting Charlie Check'm on his next radio show to talk about his anti-gay agenda for atheism. I don't know but it looks like Finlay could be down with him. I don't understand why he's been given air time. He's certainly going to make an attack on both our groups that's for sure. I'm not happy about this at all.

    Warm wishes,

    David x

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am feeling much better, thank you very much.....my voice is back and the body aches are almost gone. Gonna do that video blog/diary in a day or two, the first one just to introduce myself just to let you know who FREETHOUGHT MC is. The album release date is likely sept. 29th...stay tuned!!! I also want to clear the air and offer my apologies to my friends and fans alike. I just came from visiting Charlie Check'em's page and the last card has been dealt: I am deeply offended by the song "CHRISTIAN AND A HOMO" and have decided to cut all ties in relations with him in regards to him as a supporter of his music and as an activist/friend. He has been deleted and blocked, and I advise others to do the same at your OWN discrection. The lyrics and content of the song are even offensive to ME (a non-religious herterosexual male!); I 'm so embarrassed that I was even in his top 40 friends lists and hope it does not reflect the direction that I want to take my music. in a global sense; it doesn't. I have performed for gay rights groups and have gay friends - online and off - and stand by my lyrics in "RETURN OF THE INFIDEL" (see blog for reference). Point blank: my humanology? means EVERYBODY!!
And trust me....I got an answer record if he or someone else out there tries to diss me, the A.I.M., PROCLAIM, ETC.

Thanks for being a friend of The AIM. We really appreciate all our supporters, especially the ones that follow Atheism's One Commandment. Please swing by and see us anytime because we're a feisty but friendly famillia who like to hang with other infidels against injustice.

We apologise for not being over at Atheist Nexus the last wee while. We've all had alot going on but we should be posting there more as of next week and we have been plugging you folks on Twitter.

    Hi Kristy.
How are you? You got me hooked on intravenous A/N then cut off my supply just like you said you would. Where is A/N today because my withdrawals are kicking in? lol

    How have you been?

    Godless Regards,

thanks for the add! Not really sure what is going throught the head of my boy and fellow infidel rapper charlie (check'em)'s head, but let me talk to him and find out. He's not a bad guy like everyone is makin' him out to be.
Anyway, nice to meet you, kristy. Stay tuned....new album soon!

    Hi Kristy.
Thanks so much for the add. I was just about to add you on this and I had just finished adding you on The ARM page so you could see our bulletin on Charlie (which includes your link). We are encouraging everyone to delete him from their friend's list and boycott his music. We are absolutely appalled by his bigotry, especially because he was coming to stay with myself and my female partner in our home, while our organisation funded, organised and promoted his UK tour. He obviously didn't mind taking the hospitality of 'biologically defective' people like ourselves if it meant he could gain from us. Thus we are both incensed on a personal level too because we feel that we were opening our home to someone who was merely using us while simultaneously viewing us as defective. However what bothers me the most about what he is doing is the way in which he is manipulating science and using it as misinformation to spread prejudism while attempting to equate this prejudism with an atheist worldview. As an atheist I find this to be a true bastardization of what atheism is about and therefore we will do everything in our power to spread the truth about this atheist Ted Haggard. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help you with regards to your anti-Check'm stance. In my view this man has no place in the atheist community, especially when he is acting as a voice of our community.

Did you read his blog yesterday slating both our organisations for putting our gay agendas over our atheist agendas? It was very poorly argued, as per usual.

Anyway I am very happy to meet you and we will definitely be linking to Atheist Nexus on our new site.

    Kind Regards.

    Nathalie. (aka AK47) :)

I've noticed that a lot of serial conspiracy theorists are usually Christian fundamentalists, or at least believe the rapture is upon is. It's all kinda silly, heh.

    Stay safe!
It's raining tons here in Georgia and we've had people evacuate surrounding roads due to flood. We're safe.
I hope you stay the same!
