About me:
Hi - my name is David. If you're looking for an over-educated, left-of-center, artistic, self-employed, highly-amusing, 44 year-old Gay guy, well, you found me! Yay!
I've been on mySpace for almost two years. I've been trying to post semi-intelligent blogs where I couch my pessemistic nature with cheap references to sex and the occasional humorous comment. I also like to pepper my blogs with old movie and opera references. But don't be scared away by that--they're mostly subliminal.
My earlier blogs are in the BLOG ARCHIVE which can be accessed from the View All Blog Entries link and then clicking on "Older" on the bottom left column.
A little about me: I was born in Texas, grew up in Albuquerque, and I have lived for extended periods of my life in Minneapolis, New Haven, and New York City. I've lived in San Diego since 1997.
I love to cook, I own WAY too many books; and I have a passion for opera and musical theater and collect very old records. In 2003 I produced a 2-CD set of old recordings from the 1903 Broadway Wizard of Oz Musical which earned me a GRAMMY AWARD nomination. I've just started French lessons--the language, not the kissing. I'm already good at the kissing.
I own and run a small publishing company called Hungry Tiger Press which publishes kid's books and CDs. My darling little company is a one-man operation so I am the lead graphic designer, copy writer, editor, typist, flunkie, and warehouse boy.
Before that I was in the theater. First as a Stage Manager and then for about ten years as a Scenic Designer. My design work has been mostly on the east coast. Though I did just finish work as Production Designer on a feature film to be released in 2008.
My BF Eric, and I, have a Boston terrier named "Road." See Pics
Who I'd like to meet:
Intelligent and creative people who'd like to talk, meet for coffee, discuss life, art, music, and the sad state of the world, watch DVDs, play old records, go to the beach, to the opera, to movies, go out to eat, hang-out, walk dogs, bake cookies, go camping, eat cookies, work-out, go to the beach, etc.
