About me: I've been playing music for over 30 years and have been playing bass and singing lead vocals in bands for over 22 years, I have played localy here in FLA with every kind of band you could think of. I've spent most of my life on the stage, playing covers and other original projects. You could call me a "Road Dog" of sorts. I have recorded in the studio with numerous bands over the years but nothing seemed to get off the ground. Six years ago I was approached to tour with Circle to Circle. This being the solo project of Zak Stevens the singer of Savatage after Jon discontinued singing for the band. We did a lot of local club venues and Toured Europe for almost a year, playing the Wacken Open Air Festival with 35,000 people and the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary to name a few. After leaving CIIC, I was called to play bass and sing backing vocals for Jon Oliva. In the last 5 years I've had the privilage of playing bass, writing, singing and recording albums for Jon Oliva's Pain. A solo project with Jon Oliva, the mastermind behind the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Dr. Butcher and of course,, Savatage.
JOP is a musical outlet for Jon and the band. We get to experiment with not just Metal and HardRock, but all kinds of music and have formed a sound that is recognized now as our own. From the diehard Savatage fans to the new JOP fans, we have put forth an effort that has appealed to all.
We have been touring Europe and the US off and on now for the last 5 years, sometimes going out for 8 weeks at a time playing a string of club dates and lots of Festivals with as much as 20,000 people in attendance. The Bang Your Head Festival, The Grass Pop Fest, the EarthShaker Fest, the Pest Pop Festival, and the Prog Power Festivals-USA, UK and Europe. We are one of the few select bands that has had the privilage of playing all three of the PP Festivals. In between touring, we have released 3 albums and one EP. "Tage Mahal" and the follow up CD "Maniacal Renderings" and also "Globle Warning". We will leave again in May for a 6 week tour that will take us through Europe and get back the end of June. Then its back into the studio to start recording the next CD.
Thank you all for coming to the shows and making the JOP performances stronger each and every time.
