Influences	Dischord. In 1985 I wrote to Dischord when I ordered the Rites of Spring LP. I asked them if them why they didn't have any bands with girls on them. Cynthia Connelly wrote back and told me about a rad new band called Fire Party. I ordered the record and asked them if they thought it would be sexist to start a band with all girls in it. Cynthia said "maybe, but do it anyways!" so I did. This changed my life. When Bikini Kill started 5 years later it was my dream to be on a label like Dischord that was based in Olympia. Not only did my dream come true, but I got to run and operate the KRS Mail Order store and I'm still here today! The coolest thing about working here for over ten years is getting to a part of an international underground network that is connected through the mail. The most frustrating thing has always been how to get the people who are ordering records from us to actually meet each other and start doing stuff where they live. When that actually happens it is amazing. We wanna make that happen more often so here you go! "A sea of possibility" as Patti Smith would say. "Oh yes you can" as Mecca Normal would say.
