Welding, passion flowers, carnivorous plants, blacksmithing, engineering, voodoo lilies.. Computers, building things, figuring out how things work.. I seem to collect random bits of knowledge.. I like looking at some thing or machine and figuring out ways to make it function a little better. 'Cource 50% of the time I end up breaking it totally.. But that's part of the learning expierience. Maybe I'll be able to use the knowledge gained while breaking that thing to build a better something else in the future.
Music
Alternative, techno & classic... I lived with a Los Angeles rave promoter for a while so I got a little exposureto tht scene from a view most never see.. NIN & FatBoy Slim are the all time favorites..
Movies
Movies?
There's quite a few I'd like to see...
But pretty much if it's come out in the last 5 years I haven't seen it, unless it's made it onto the tele..
Why not?
No time / someone to watch it with..
Here's one I could have been in.. Well, till that "back's broken" thing...
And one we're all in like it or not:
Television
Discovery... History.. SCI-Fi.. Once the new season starts you'll find me in front of the tele friday nites for SCI-FI.
And 'course.. The Daily Show.. Where we can see what it's *really* like "over there" in the sandbox:
Books
Books?
While I've read the bible, I don't believe in it.
Mostly I'm into sci-fi & those sort of books that aren't based on The Truth.. Hmmm... Maybe that's why I've read the bible?
Heroes
Hero's?
I'm my own friggin' hero..
Very few folks could do what I've already done..
And very few folks could deal with what I must now. Imagine your life in my shoes.. You're 'top of the heap' in 3 different career fields- Not the tippy-top, but close. Your life is getting paid to have fun. you have 30 years of "life expierence" you put into your job(s), and you're close to the best in the world at several different things.
Your life is your legs.. How else would you ride a snowboard, pack a saw on wildfires, or control aircraft in a combat enviornment w/o getting killed?
Then all the sudden a tree falls on you while fighting an arson fire.. It breaks your back.. And now you cannot feel or move your legs. All that life knowledge? Still there but good luck usin' it. (note how my saw is now taller than I am...) All that physical ability? Gone. All that "getting paid to have fun"? Gone.
Could you deal? If all you have right now is suddenly ripped from you? If you all the sudden cannot do anything you considered "fun"? If you had to spend the rest of your life with a wheelchair tied to your ass?

Where's That Girl?
Believe it or not, meeting people is rather difficult when their first opinion of you is "is he retarded?" I haven't any idea why folks think "wheelchairs" = "brain damage", but that seems to be what happens often. people are afraid to talk to me because I'm "different". I figure if you're that shallow, I prolly don't want to talk to you anyway.
So now my life revolves around school & inventing / building things for the wildland fire industry. O-Chem, Calc & Finance.. Plus running my business where I'm the owner, operator & only employee.
No, I don't sleep much. Don't have the time.
Folks say this vid reminds them of me:
Who I'd like to meet: Hmmm...It would be nice to meet someone who's cute, intelligent & not into all the relationship reindeer games. Would be nice if she didn't live too terribly far away as I've had a few Bad Experiences with the long distance relationships.
Lately I've compiled a list.. You know what you want when looking for a house or car right? Why not have a list for a companion?
Here it is:
Many of these are negotiable. Some are not.
Mind candy:
Smart is definitely a plus. In fact it's a requirement.
I don't care how old you are but you must have that maturity level.
Be interested in what's happening in the world around us be it politics, science, nature, or simply how things work.
Being smarter than I am at math / science is quite hot.
Attitude / lifestyle:
I'd like to share the cooking- thus she needs know her way around the kitchen. I don't expect her to do it all but knowing which end of the knife to hold & how to keep it sharp would be nice.
Sounds obvious but please be able to drive.
Be able to move with a purpose. (there's times for lollygagging & times to get it done. Know the difference.)
Spelling is important.
Eye candy:
Be shorter than I am. Preferably less than 5'7", ideally around 5'.
Not so excited about the larger cup sizes.
What's that? You have red hair? And that freckled completion that shouts "not from a bottle"? !....
Admin Note ~> Dressing slutty is not attractive. If she's constantly pulling the skirt down perhaps she needs a longer one. I like a little mystery- Give me something to unwrap when we get home ok?
Thank you, Captain Obvious..'s Friend Space (Randomized)
It's been a bit, I just wanted to say hi. Funny thing... I had the "People You May Know" thing on my page... Apparently you, and another friend of mine in Germany are friends with the same person. Kinda strange.... Who knows
WOW you are getting really good at cutting stones! They look really nice. I hope you are doing well haven't heard from you in a while. Give a shout when you get the chance. Hope that school is going well for you. Take care and talk to you soon.
Do you know what I thought of? I named the baby Evan Christopher. That's your name backwards.
Now you can say you have someone named after you :-)
How you been? How's gem cutting? I think that is so cool. It would be way awesome if you posted a video of it. I'd watch it!
Do you work with jade? I was doing jewelry making and someone gave me a bunch of jade chips. I took out the dremmel, not quite knowing what I was doing, and attempted to drill holes. Yeah, I pretty much broke all but 3 chips. You can't make a bracelet out of 3 chips.
Just saw BUCKETHEAD at High Sierra Music Fest OMG!!!! I was an instant fan ...MESMERIZING!!!! Ever seen him? Oh and we are burning the F**k UP here in the Plumas hope you are well Smiles
Hey someday when gas is cheaper, yah right. I would love to visit you. I have been reading your blogs (stalker). They are so great. Very inspiring. My friend Sue would die over your flowers. The gem stuff sound like a blast. I recently took up lampworking. I love the depth you can get in glass work. So glad to get to talk to you once again. Lili
