Karen creates a safe environment for all to explore finding their own unique sound in both singing and speaking. She respects the individual and spontaneity and also the multi-layered process of uncovering and connecting more fully to our voices, no matter what level, style or goal. Her approach is integrated, educated and natural and can positively influence all styles of singing, speaking and even life itself.
As a previous resident with a successful voice studio in NYC for 11 years (1997-2007) and currently in San Francisco since 2008, Karen has a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance and vast training/experience that spans from classical to music theatre to folk to alternative rock. She has over 6 years training in Alexander Technique and many years experience in other body/energy/healing work which greatly informs much of her own singing as well as her teaching. Karen was also vocal coach on the movie "Hemingway and Gellhorn" (Nicole Kidman, Clive Owen) released May 2012. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. An artist living out her own path, she welcomes people from all walks of life to her voice studio.
