Also, KSCU is a 50 watt non-commercial radio station affiliated with Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California. I have a varied format, but I play only independent music, varying from indie rock, punk, ska, jazz, blues, reggae, and others. I have been a radio station (with one name or another) for over 50 years.
At the epicenter of KSCU's 30 mile broadcasting radius lies a DJ studio in the basement of the Swig Residence Hall on the Santa Clara University campus. Hence the name "The Underground Sound". A name which also serves to remind new listeners that KSCU strives to play good music unrecognized by mainstream radio.
Who I'd like to meet: KFJC,KUSF and KALX are cool cats, I never did understand KSJS though. They never call me. We all have to strengthen our signals or friends get weak. I'd love to meet fellow music-loving listeners and businesses who feel the need to donate their hard earned pennies to keep non-commerical radio stations like me afloat.
We would also like to meet other radio stations, people who like underground music, local bands, non-local bands, KSCU fans, people who enjoy music, people who like listening to the radio, people who rock out, people from the Bay Area, people who support local music, people who go to concerts, and people who like supporting college radio or non-profit organizations!
