KSM was an American all-girl teen pop/rock band from Los Angeles, California that was active from 2006 to 2010. The band consisted of lead singer Shelby Cobra, lead guitarist Shae Padilla, rhythm guitarist Katie Cecil, drummer Kate Cabebe, and bassist Sophia Melon. They gained popularity in Summer 2009 when they covered the song "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick. The song was used to promote the television series 10 Things I Hate About You on the ABC Family network. KSM got their start touring in arenas all over the country, with USA Olympians no less, as the musical act for the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars. Their next tour was also in arenas with Disney super star Demi Lovato, and American Idol David Archuleta on their 2009 Summer tour. Their meet and greets reached 500 people a night, sometimes even more. Straight off the Demi tour, they were the supporting act for Mitchel Musso on his 2009 summer tour, also featuring recording artist Jimmy Robbins. KSM has also opened for Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls, and Jordin Sparks. KSM's journey as they approached and then supported the release of their debut album was documented in the bi-weekly reality web series called, KSM: Read Between The Lines which debuted on August 10, 2009 on www.teen.com. The 20-episode web series was produced by The Disney Music Group and The Jonas Group. On September 22, 2009, KSM released their debut album Read Between the Lines, which was written and produced by Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil. KSM performed on Good Morning America on October 8, 2009, and on The Rachael Ray Show on October 12, 2009. In August 2010, KSM announced the end of the band. The girls were ready to pursue separate careers in music, education, and entertainment, but still look fondly upon their years in the band. The memories, friendships, and fans will last a lifetime!
