Karl Standeven-guitar, vocals, bass, and assorted noises, and hopefully soon to come, my pet fish Eric playing some drums...but you can hear Layne Person playing drums and David Burkholder playing bass on 'crush me' and 'carnival'.
Influences
Karl is deeply immersed in the blues and blues based genre's, namely funk, soul, and old skool R&B. Favourite artists include Eric Clapton, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, John Mayer, Maceo Parker, and Harry Connick jr. And dude, you gotta check out the new Jonny Lang disc!
This project is basically an outlet for my playing and creativity, and a way for me to express my faith. All the songs are original, and are, for the most part, prayers for myself. The only thing is, the more I wrote, the more I found I had in common with everybody else! So could be that these prayers are for you, too. I have no delusions of grandeur, I just want to play, to have an excuse to use a bunch of cool gear, and to share my faith with whoever will listen. Thanks for stopping to see me!
