On January 3rd 2008 Kublakai, dropped "The Basics", 17 tracks, 62 minutes of hip hop that makes you listen and keeps you listening. And yet somehow he manages, even after dealing with subjects that vary so completely from the absurd to the heavy hearted, to leave you walking away from your listening experience with a smile.
