California beaches, the Sierra Nevada lakes and streams, any place with water. Small towns, medium towns, big towns, ghost towns. Creativity, self-expression, design, art, architecture. Adventure and exploration, trying new things, getting dirty. Making people laugh, connecting with others. Reading reading reading yum: literature, history, trashy romance novels. Nude sunbathing, not-nude sunbathing. Travel to Hawaii, Belgium, Scotland, Alaska, Costa Rica, Machu Pichu & Bosque de Chapultapec, motherfucker. Cafes, coffee shops, girly shops, bars. Tattoos, piercings, strip clubs, churches. Music: Rockin rock, acoustic guitarings, soulful meanderings. Exercise and the art of eating as little as possible, while still eating ice cream. Ice cream: chocolate chocolate peanut butter and chocolate. Porn. Church hymns. Orchids. Foreign movies, date movies, movies based on books.
Things I want to learn how to do: speak Italian, wakeboard, snowboard.
Things I want to learn how to do better: run longer distances, stay true to myself in relationships, be present to my kids, meditate and connect with God, and some other things not safe to mention in such a public forum.
Things I LOVE that I want to do again someday: cook, garden, do yoga, hike, camp, ride horses.
Eager to find proven ways to stay young: loving, living, laughter, and really good wrinkle cream. And um, jilling....
Music
Music is such a huge part of who I am. I have my own personal soundtrack in my head at all times. Here's a sampling of today's playlist: Zero Seven, Morcheeba, Aqualung, Deathcab for Cutie, Sarah McLachlan, Richard Buckner, Imogen Heap, Fall Out Boy, She Wants Revenge, My Chemical Romance, Ben Harper, Scissor Sisters, Paula Cole, Gorillaz, Jimmy Eat World, Goldfrapp, Yellowcard, Subways, Weezer, Natasha Bedingfield, Anna Nalick, Dashboard Confessional, old David Bowie, Kate Bush, k.d. lang, Switchfoot, The Shins, Indigo Girls, Girlyman. And OF COURSE, I love mash-ups. Check out DJ John's stuff in particular....
Movies
I'm a movie junkie. Except for anything depressing or too scary. I think real life can be pretty horrible sometimes, I don't need movies helping my imagination along. Favorite movies of all time: Memoirs of a Geisha, Manon of the Spring, Pride and Prejudice, So I Married An Axe Murderer, and Phantom of the Opera (because I seriously have a thing for Gerard Butler)....
Television
On demand high def plasma. 'Nuf said.
Books
Where do I start. I read about a book every three days, so really, I think a book list might be too much to ask for. Fav books at the top of my head: The Historian, My Sister's Keeper.
Heroes
If you are living your life genuinely, treating others with respect and compassion, following your passion, being the best you you can be, making mistakes and learning from them, doing your best not to judge others, then you are my hero.
Pretty clear on who I am at this point and trying to live each moment in authenticity. Take a liberal dosing of beach bum and california girl, throw in a generous splash of horny teenager, one part obnoxious excitement, mix with a jigger of intellectual snobbery, and a dollop of hot chick and you might have a good picture of me. Trying to be true to myself, honest with those around me, and love each person for who they are and what their truth is. Trying to explore my life and experience more of the things, activities, places, and people that fuel my fire. I'm a firm believer in self-examination. I welcome being called on my shit.
Who I'd like to meet: I would love to make friends, but ya gotta be emotionally and mentally mature. Seriously, if we share the same interests, drop me an email. Especially looking for people who are creative and responsible, fun yet reliable, openminded and smart, full of dichotomies, like me. Especially want to meet any jibberjabbery, cheshire-cat grinning, burlesque-loving, karaoke singers. Over 40-year-olds need not apply. It's an unfortunate truth that I'm an age discriminator.... And for the record, I am not looking for dates here nor do I want to chat. SERIOUSLY.
haha a little weird I suppose. HOWEVER... when you mathematically figure it, he's in like 8 of about 250 pictures on mine whereas he's probably in over half of yours :-]
WE (as in you and me) need more pictures. And to hang out more. Pleeeeease?
How is my little giggle pot? Remember how we used to dress up as nuns, go out in the middle of the night, and write depressing poetry in black shoe polish on all the white limosines in La Jolla? Those were the days.
Glibby, I'm glad I met you my friend, technology is a good thing for without it we probably would have never had the chance to talk shit to one another.
It was quite enjoyable shooting the breeze with you on T Day. I never got that saying... How would one shoot breeze? With a slingshot perhaps?
Anyway! If you hip hounds wanna get down with my non-skid self lemme know and we'll get stewed to the hat with some giggle water and a few sweet dance moves. When I'm feeling really sassy, I've been known to break out the running man...parachute pants and all...
Red Light Libby the next time you're out for a drink I suggest that before you tip the bartender you say" Wait,wait.....are lookin' at me, ARE you lookin' at me? BAM!" That's when you slam like 50 cents on the bar top.
That's what I did last night and after a while I was getting free drinks.
AH! Okay...now we need to get lunch, like NOW. Except it's dinner time. What to do? Let's get lunch this week since I'm finally not craaazy busy for about a minute.
