Pretty much anything that doesn't involve Polka or accordions. One of my my all-time favorite bands would be Toad The Wet Sprocket.
And the song Pray Your God is one their songs I really value...
I will give the secrets you request
And you will be the one to sacrifice
So lay your olive arms upon my breast
And sing the poems, free the butterflies
Pray your gods who ask you for your blood
For they are strong and angry jealous ones
Or lay upon my altar now your love
I fear my time is short
There are armies moving close
Be quick, my love
I feel my body weakened by the years
As people turn to gods of cruel design
Is it that they fear the pain of death
Or could it be they fear the joy of life
Pray your gods who hold you by your fear
For they are quick and ruthless punishers
Or lay upon my altar now your love
I fear my day is done
There are armies moving on
Be quick, my love
A Man for All Seasons, Gladiator, The Patriot, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, V for Vendetta, Breaker Morant, Blade Runner, Brazil...well, goddamn, I can't list all my favorite movies, all 300+ DVD's of mine are my favs, that's why I bought them! ..
Television
I drink copious amounts of beer to kill my brain cells, I don't need television...
Books
I own a library, so the short answer is, yes, books. People don't read anymore for indepth information, everything now seems to be geared toward gloss-over-scan-glance for highlights. Nothing better than losing yourself in a good book, fiction or non-fiction. ..
Heroes
Very over used title. It has lost the meaning...
It is said
There were simpler times
When truth was plainer
And more common.
Now spiraling down
Into a spiteful age
We seek the lesser goals
Of lesser men.
As they eat our substance
They proclaim us free
And devalue the meaning of our words
Through contorted speech and action.
We consent by silence
All those intentioned saints
Eagerly paving our way
To that special place reserved for knaves and fools.

I currently work at a grocery store and spend vast amounts of my free time playing MMO's and reading and watching the world go down the crap hole. Nearly all of that is entertaining on some level.
Anyway, as for the world, I used to be disgusted...now I'm just amused.
Like anything else, even death, you start accepting what can't be changed. Of course, it doesn't make me anymore tolerant of the fools working to expedite the outcomes (due to ignorance or design).
My life has been interestingly varied and I have seen much of this ball of mud we inhabit. More importantly, I have witnessed and learnt much of how the human world operates. If I lack modesty on any one thing, it would be...that I don't walk around in as thick a fog of ignorance as most other people. It's damn depressing sometimes...but hey, everyone has a cross to haul around, eh?
As for my years since leaving home:
I have been enlisted in two different branches of the military, employed for 12 years as a defense contractor on a U.S. Missile Range, worked 2 years in the Pentagon for army leadership. (General Shinseki, an honorable man)
And, most recently, I am employed as a produce clerk at a Fred Meyers store here in Idaho.
I always like to meet that engaging person with a spark of life behind their eyes. But, some exceptions are made for cute people. I mean, you have to give cute people a break, what else do they have...I mean really?
(As for me, I'm a fairly boring person with a passion...yeah, that's seems contradictory doesn't it?)
I don't care for overly cerebral people who crunch numbers or talk of things wrapped up in formula or equation, or are prone to quote memorized lists of data. I can respect such individuals for their abilities, but don't find them interesting...people blind to the trees because they only see a forest to be managed.
I like the kind of people that question the world around them, think out of the box and recognize above all else, the human mind/spirit is meant to be unbound.
