Kultur Cine Club @ Moor Festival 2007

Kultur will be bringing to the Moor Fest film lovers an exciting programme of short films and documentaries from the best in UK and world cinema talent, to be screened each evening in the Green Room.

On the cards are a jam of cultures and different points of view that will engage, inspire and challenge your perceptions, “because the world is closer than you think”. To find out more, visit our Moor Festival page.

Who I'd like to meet:

Kultur Cine Club

Kultur Cine Club offers a platform for the exhibition of the best short films and documentaries from around the world, where audiences are invited to engage, be challenged and inspired.

We strongly believe in the power of culture and communication and are passionate about developing a wider audience for specialised films on an international level.

We truly believe on our motto "...because the world is closer than you think" and we will endeavor to make independent films more accessible to different audiences and to help to alter their perceptions.

We're currently looking for exciting new films so if you have what it takes please visit filmmakers call out for more information.

We're also looking for collaborators interested in writing film reviews or articles for our website. Please send us your work to yourthoughts@kulturcineclub.co.uk.

Visit us for more information at Kultur Cine Club.

CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS: SHORT FILMS AND DOCUMENTARIES!

Kultur Cine Club is looking for the highest quality short films and documentaries from around the world to be showcased on our film nights and events in Leeds (UK) and promoted to the best of our ability on our website, brochures and promotional materials.

Kultur Cine Club is a not for profit enterprise which specialises in the showcase of independent work, in the promotion of critical discussions, in broadening the filmmaking culture and widening the audiences for the medium.

Kultur is hunting down great films that we hope will bring our audiences a new viewing experience away from the festival circuit. There is also the option for your film to be screened theatrically and at the festival circuit.

Our programmes are curated to represent a varied and meaningful selection of the best in world cinemas. In particular, we’ve been looking for films which have been unable to secure distribution in the UK, or that have distribution, but still need a bit more exposure to reach new markets.

If you think your film has what it takes, we definitely want to hear from you! To submit your film, please contact us at ivegotwhatittakes@kulturcineclub.co.uk. For more information please visit Kultur Cine Club or at filmmakers call out.

CALLING ALL FILM WRITERS: ARTICLES AND REVIEWS!

Kultur Cine Club is looking for volunteer collaborators interested in having their film reviews and articles published in our brochure (launching soon) and website. Reviews and articles can be about any film or topic related to cinema and visual art, from commercial releases to online videos.

We showcase independent films to a discerning audience and promote critical discussions. The programmes are curated to represent a varied and meaningful international selection of the best in world cinemas.

If you would like to collaborate, please send us your work to yourthoughts@kulturcineclub.co.uk. Clearly label your work with name and contact details.

Please note that due to the high volume of submissions, Kultur Cine Club will not be able to enter into any correspondence unless your work is selected.

If you have any further questions, please email us at yourthoughts@kulturcineclub.co.uk or visit us at Kultur Cine Club or at writers call out.

Easily one of the most important bands of our times (and we don't say that lightly), Stars of the Lid are the highpoint of the ambient genre. Their influence on the music that really matters over the last decade has been huge, and we're incredibly honoured to be hosting them again in Leeds. This gig will be very very different, and very very special. Stars of the Lid have excelled at designing subtle, minimalist epics which sound like they're being played on a single multifaceted organic instrument.
A wise man once described SOTL as "divine classical drones without the tedious intrusion of drums, or vocals.
"

The Declining Winter is the musical project of Richard Vincent Adams of Leeds UK, the co-founder of the continuing group Hood and a full time stricken office worker.
What does it sound like? Richard says "cassette tapes spilling out of the glovebox of a 1970's Datsun Sunny somewhere in the north of England, captured on Super 8 film".
He's not far off. Live he is joined by a few more people to bring the beautiful pastoral feel to life. Wonderful stuff.

A Forest of Sound presentation.
Tickets are £10 and are available from We Got Tickets and Jumbo Records.
It’ll be £12 on the doors, and doors are at 8pm.

Golden Diskó Ship combines a mass of instruments and found objects (guitars, viola, glockenspiel, sticky tape, compact disc cases, toys…) together with perfectly crafted laptop electronica to form a world of beautiful, original and individual music - “…dreamy, experimental folk electronica that sounds like walking on the beach with the sun in your eyes."

Hands and Fingers makes minimally gorgeous cerebral music. He mixes samples, acoustic guitars, glockenspiel and ambient atmospheres with drum breaks that have been described as "Tortoise having a fight with Four Tet in the dark, with John Bonham trying to split them up". It's ace. Very ace.

A Forest of Sound presentation. It’s £4 on the door, doors are 8pm.

It seems like years since the last Moorfest happened and to be honest I think the weather was very much a factor in whether people enjoyed themselves or not. Some thrived in the mud whilst others wept until their dads could pick them up. Moorfest is still carving an identity for itself and in the three years that it has been established I think I can say that the one thing that most people love about it is the friendly atmosphere, and this gig is a good opportunity to meet up with friends that perhaps you haven't seen since the festival, to make new friends, enjoy quality music, get a flavour of Moorfest if you haven't already been and also to talk to the organisers in order to give your opinions on how to improve the festival.
We'll also be projecting your favourite photos that you've taken from previous Moorfests to create a live mashup that will adorn the walls of the Brudenell so please send them to bandsformoorfest@yahoo.co.uk and make sure that everyone in the picture is cool for you to use them like this.

There'll be much more to boot like gorgeous organic food, t-shirt stall, films and raffles to win tickets to Moorfest 4 which we're working on right now and aim to make it the best yet.

We really appreciate your continued support in making Moorfest what it is and hope to see you all there.

Hey Virginia sorry about that I must have given you the wrong one.
That's funny because I tried that one a while ago too, the one I gave you,
and it made me all mad because they sucked real bad, and they didn't pay too
good either they offered like sweepstakes and stuff instead of cash.
But anyways, the right site is www.3mymoney.com , it's the one I am making $650 a week with putting in about 23 hours
a week, sometimes up to like 30 hours if I'm daydreaming.
After you get your membership make sure you sign up with the companies on page
one in the members section because they are the ones that pay you the most,
I got $75 for one that took me 25 minutes today. You'll see what I'm talking
about when you get in there.
Jackie started taking them too and she's making $800 a week, it's making me
so mad because I'm the one that showed her which one to sign up with now she's
making more than me.
Alright well me and Celeste are getting ready to leave now, just give me a call
or I'll catch you on here and let me know if you have any problems with your
membership. TTYS hun

Damo Suzuki is a legend! Best known for his stint as the legendary Krautrock pioneers Can as their singer in the 70s, Damo now tours the world to hook up with the best of local musicians to produce stunning sets of improvised music. We cannot stress how good this will be enough - you've never experienced anything like a Damo Suzuki show before, even if you've been to a Damo Suzuki show before!

This extra special Forest of Sound will see Damo backed by the collective brilliance that is The Window Right and The Pattern Theory.

Tickets are £6 advance from We Got Tickets and £7 on the door.

Get yourself down!
