Someone said that you must first be intelligent in order to be schizoid. If so, the members of Kung Foo Preacher are geniuses. Enabler is a wild ride thru several genres evoking Type O Negative, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., Concrete Blonde and Marilyn Manson, sometimes within the same song. “Mystery Man” is one such trek across barriers, as is the punk-infused metal riff of “Animated” or the club techno-metal of highlight, “Devil Inside Me.” Ben Power (lead vocals/guitar), Noel Contreras (guitar), Carlos Contreras (bass) and John Covington (drums) comprise one of DF/W’s most innovative metal bands. Other great tracks include “Dasvidania” and “Dead and Beautiful.” ... this (enabler) is a great presentation from one of the more exciting and interesting artists around.

Kung Foo Preacher's music is the vision of eccentric singer/songwriter Ben Power. Helping define and realize this vision are long-time childhood friends Noel and Carlos Contreras. Rounding off the circle is veteran drummer John Covington. (previously from seminal Doom Metal band Solitude Aeturnus) Together they mold this vision into a tangible, musical art form known as Kung Foo Preacher. The music is pop-edged metal and hard rock, sometimes splashed with electronic touches. It can be intellectual and thought provoking or it can just set a mood with lyrics and various musical weavings. The sound is unique and immediate, filled excellent musicianship and a roller coaster of melodic and lyrical hooks. Kung Foo Preacher is a different kind of band, focusing on making the music and performance a memorable and thought provoking event. Onstage they are eccentric and dramatic, with a flair for the grandiose and strange, often intensifying the stage show with lights fog and sometimes stage-props. The band uses it's intense charisma to over-power the audience with sound, drama, and visual flair. This music/art has been a shared vision of these friends for more than decade. With their experience, determination, and passion, they will continue to push the envelope ...to perform ...to make music until they can no longer. This band is not something they want, it is something they must do ...for themselves and for fans of great music.
