The usual. Plus lyrics on Hannah provided by Jared Green (during what we like to call the "old Jared" phase).
Influences
Sting. The music that he writes, well, I don't really listen to it. But the fact that he makes it--I respect that.
Sounds Like
After listening to this album the other day for the first time in like 3 years, I realized that we sound a lot like the Smoking Popes, and also Sublime. But maybe you think we just sound like crap. But does crap really make a noise? I guess if you count the sound of it hitting the water. But that's gross. Maybe we should start using the phrase "it sounds like boring loudness" instead of "sounds like crap." Yeah, let's say that instead. Go and spread the word.
In fall of 1998, 4 college freshman who lived in the dorms at Budge Hall got together (ok, Mark was actually added during winter semester). They jammed. They rocked. They performed shows in the hall lobby. Good times were had by all. And then things really started to take off. First, there was an opening gig for the My Man Friday cd release party at the Wrapsody. And then there was the dorm Battle of the Bands (where they got snubbed by lousy judges). And finally, they hit the big time when Sunfall Festival (that's right, the Sunfall Festival!) actually opened for them at the mental hospital gig. All 10 people in the crowd loved it. And, well, that's pretty much it. They recorded these songs, and they went on a 2-year hiatus. Afterwards, they reformed themselves as My Own Best Friend, and rockin' hilarity ensued. ----So now you know the story. Go and spread the word. Go on now....Do it.----
