We have been compared to Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters, mclusky, Social Distortion, Soundgarden, Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Blur, Pixies, Ash, The Vines, Nine Black Alps, REM, Seafood, Bush, Placebo, jetplane landing, and you will know us by the trail of the dead, shooting at unarmed men, Fugazi.
Having been compared to whatever noise it is that angry dinosaurs make, Norwich Alt-Rock band KunK make sounds that have been known to stop wild boar in their quest for flesh. Creating a sound that is "somewhere between the demented growl of Mclusky & the early Britrock might of 3 Colours Red" (Subba-Cultcha.com), KunK put on an energetic live show that excites, tantalises and scares the crowd in equal measure. They have also shared the stage with the likes of The Subways, The Airborne Toxic Event, Nine Black Alps, Baddies, Underground Railroad, Electric Eel Shock, Battle, Mcqueen and appeared on the XFM Indie Night of the 2008 City Showcase Festival in London.
Two years after a much needed line-up change, KunK released their debut single “We’re Not Who You Think We Are” in May 2008. The single quickly picked up play on Kerrang! Radio, BBC Radio 1, Resonance FM and XFM, with influential DJ John Kennedy calling it “one of the finest releases of the year!”. News of KunK hit the shores of the United States shortly after with huge early radio reaction from the likes of WNYE New York, NY, KDLD-Los Angeles, CA, WKQX Chicago, IL, WXPN Philadelphia, PA, WFNX Boston, MA, KEXP Seattle, WA.
KunK recently headed back into the studio, this time with producer Paul Tipler (Forward Russia, Placebo, Idlewild) manning the boards, to record their next single “This City” which is to be released 2009.
"One of the finest releases of the year!" - John Kennedy, XFM
"Impressive release, three edgy alternative slightly angular and rather infectious indie guitar tracks that bite." - Organ Magazine
"Mixing attitude with adrenaline and bringing just the right amount of aggressive rawness to tempt all, KunK are a band with much to offer and whether its their seductively raw riffs that whip you into a frenzy or their energetically fiery vocals, this is a band to keep a very watchful eye on." - Room Thirteen
"The opening track pumps out of my stereo, thrashing indie and grunge pouring out of the speakers, and it was so good that I thought I saw some shock waves blasting out my cd player. They come off as one of my favourite bands I've listened to in my reviewing career" - R*E*P*E*A*T
" Finding themselves sonically somewhere between the demented growl of Mclusky & the early Britrock might of 3 Colours Red, Kunk have a tight and mightily effective sound!" - Subba-Cultcha
