The KW Improvisers Collective is a new organization that is working to promote improvising musicians, and the improvised music scene in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
KWIC was founded in 2006 by Kathryn Ladano (bass clarinet) and Ted Harms (double bass). We hold weekly open rehearsals that happen Monday nights at 7:00 in room A222 in the John Aird Building at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. We welcome musicians of all backgrounds, experience levels, and instruments.
In June of 2007, KWIC began it's Consumables Concert Series. All upcoming concerts in the series will be posted in the concerts section. KWIC will also be hosting a series of improvisation workshops.
Upcoming Workshops:
Host: Lori Freedman
Sunday, February 10th - 7:00pm
Room A221 - Wilfrid Laurier University (John Aird Building)

KWIC would like to thank the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund for their generous support.
Hi there KW Improvisers Collective first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't loose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
Hey guys and gals I have a lot of respect for those who can improvise music... sounds like you guys are having a blast!! Take care :) -Tom (and Darren)
