I am a single mother of a beautiful seven year old daughter with PDD/Autism. Pervasive Developmental Disorder, is a 'subthreshold' condition in which some - but not all - features of autism or another explicitly identified Pervasive Developmental Disorder are identified. I am doing all I can to educate myself on every available source that provides accurate information on the study of PDD/Autism. I have a good reason to be doing this for my beautiful little girl to have a normal childhood and for her to be a very productive adult while able to care for herself. I knew by the time my precious little girl was 3 years of age that something was very unique about her. She didn't talk very much or even begin to put words together to make sentences. Her development was slow and she was very behind for her age group. She would often play alone and not want to play with others or even me at times. She didn't care to throw a ball or even want to catch one. She is a very picky eater and still is to this day. She has temper tantrums when her daily routines are changed in even the smallest way. She also twists her feet and hands in circular motions when she was either excited about something or upset. I asked questions when I took her to see her doctor but he just didn't seem to see the same things that I did and why I was so worried. Then my daughter began to attend preschool and I truly was blessed then cause her school knew just as I had that there was some differences in Taylor Grace and what steps needed to be taken to get her tested and to give me the education I need to raise my little angel in the ways she will benefit from daily. There are no words to describe how precious she is to me and my entire family. It was meant to be, a gift from God, that I was picked to be her "Mama." She is a blessing and I will or shall never regret one moment I have with her. She has her good days and bad days (but don't we all) and I will live the rest of my life sharing every day I can with her and being the best mother I can be for my little girl. There are days that are rough but we get through them. I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. I will take them bad days along with the good ones. For to me, when she looks in my eyes, I see the love she has for me and there is no greater reward in my life than that.

I have never been much of a reader. But as a teenager, I did read the novels written by V. C. Flowers In The Attic was released into a movie around 1981.
  • Heroes

My heroes will always be my parents. I have recently lost both my parents within the last three years. There is no way to describe with words just how much my parents mean to me. I truly am one very lucky woman to have been blessed with loving, caring, understanding and ever so trusting parents. I will forever be grateful to my parents for raising me the way they did. I am doing my best to raise my children with the same respect, morals, honesty, responsibilities that my parents have taught me throughout my lifetime. I will forever be grateful to my parents for all the help and wisdom they have given to me. I will also continue each and everyday of my life to never let my parents memories fade. I shall tell my family, friends, and so on all I can about my parents with every story or memory that I have. I love you Dad & Mom with all my heart. I will never forget either one of you. Rest In Peace for I know you are with God & Jesus in Heaven and happy with no more suffering with that terrible back pain that you both endured for years.
