NEW ALBUM OUT NOW!
Kyla Brox is back with her most exciting release to date. 'Grey Sky Blue' is a 12 track acoustic extravaganza, featuring the unique guitar skills of Danny Blomeley and Kyla's luscious vocals. The pair are joined by some pretty splendid guests in the shape of Tony Marshall on spine-tingling sax, Clive Mellor on fiery harmonica and sweet sisterly harmonies from Buffy Brox, among others.
'Grey Sky Blue' is a heady mix of moody, classic blues and moving personal reflection, along with the cheeky lyrics and chunky, funky riff-driven songs that showcase Danny's explosive guitar style so well. From the deep, raw sound of "All Breaking Down" to the intimate "Kasbah" and the jazzy "Since I Fell For You", Kyla's honeyed voice wraps you up and takes you to a place you won't want to leave. Fans of Kyla will already be familiar with her rich, soaring voice, but this is without doubt her most accomplished vocal performance, yet.
Live at Matt & Phred's available for limited time only.

Kyla was born to sing. Hailing from Manchester, she grew up listening to her dad play the blues and her mum singing opera. At the age of 12 her dreams turned to reality when she started performing in her father's band, The Victor Brox Blues Train. Since then, Kyla has grown to be an incredible singer, widely regarded as Britain's number one female Blues singer. With five albums already recorded, Kyla has just released "Grey Sky Blue", an acoustic extravaganza, featuring the unique guitar skills of song-writing partner, Danny Blomeley. Kyla's music is a heady mix of moody, classic blues and moving personal reflection, along with the cheeky lyrics and chunky, funky riff-driven songs that showcase Danny's explosive guitar style so well. Never one to hold back, when Kyla performs you're guaranteed an awesome performance, brimming with heart and soul and bursting with energy.

TonyD to run the "acoustic open mic" night at Wittles Current mood: high Category: Music Just as one off for now, Johnny Harper has asked me and Steve to run the "acoustic open mic" night at Wittles Oldham,
- Tuesday 5th May 2009.
I have oprganised a few people to come along and do a set - Sue Denim & Jon Mambo (Queeny & Pawn), Pete Greenfield, Mike Mellor and Steve Love. There will be the usual open mic. Steve and I will do a set to start off at about 9:00pm, the music goes on to about 12:00, 11:30 last oprders. I went down last night, and it was a very enjoyable evening, more acoustic than usual with a jembi instead of the full kit. I will be organising the running order, so let me know if you fancy playing.
So, a different night, great PA, and new audience. Next Tuesday - Acoustic Open Mic - Wittles Oldham.
