Brewed in the oldest town in Texas, The Kyle Kenney Band’s first live performance took place in 2007 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Nacogdoches. Fans packed the ancient dancehall beyond safe capacity that night, and the band’s Texas Country melody and all-night jams would keep their fans well past midnight shouting “one more song.” In a night of singing and drinking the night away without caution to the right-of-way, the Kyle Kenney Band leaves fans with something that everybody wants, a story to tell their grandchildren. Since their introduction at the Knights of Columbus, the Kyle Kenney Band has amplified through the East Texas pines landing some of the most sought-after performances in the state. In November, the band opened the 2008 Holiday Fest with The Bellamy Brothers at Durango’s Canyon Rose Amphitheater in Henderson, Texas. After performing before musicians that some experts call “the most successful duo in country music history,” drummer Corey Kenney was at a loss for words when David Bellamy approached him after the show to compliment the band’s tight rhythm and bass. “I thought it was just cool that a legend was standing there around a campfire talking about how he digged our music.” Two months later, the band took the stage before Matt Deaton and Front Porch Texas putting on a packed show for their hometown fans at the Texas Saloon in Pasadena. "The Band brings magnetic comradery to every performance, the kind that sets the stage on fire and burns passion in your heart.." -Alamo Live Entertainment
Houston is not the only city that has discovered the Kyle Kenney Band either. On March 28th, they joined Texas’ most talented musicians at the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo in Austin. The band had the advantage of turning up their volume enormously, showcasing their tunes to the music capitol of Texas on Rodeo Austin’s giant outdoor stage. As the band’s set-list continues to multiply with original songs, so does the stock of their highly-anticipated first album which is scheduled for release toward the end of 2009.
