.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... Kyle Rapps was born Kyle Sutton, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to a Caucasian right-wing catholic teenager who had a fling with a Black communist jazz musician in 1980. He was then adopted by a Black preacherman and a caucasion co-ed. After dealing with the horrors of addiction in Princeton NJ and dropping out of high school, his story continues to develop into one of triumph, after beginning with a clean slate and a GED. .. .. At age 20 he started winning poetry slams in NYC with a concept-strong, socially-sharp raw hip hop delivery. Kyle attended Rutgers University and formed the acclaimed underground hip hop group, Thought Breakers under the Psuedonym Skeptik. By the time he graduated Rutgers with a B.A. in Spanish, Thoughbreakers were local legends, having opened up for Wyclef, Fat Joe, Tallib Kweli, and Dead Prez, and sold 10,000 copies of their Album, Episode One. .. .. After his poetry career has taken off with Mayhem Poets playing childrens theatres all around the country, Kyle has returned to the roots of his distant family with concept driven hip hop music. Under the name Black Skeptik, he released 2 singles: "Rent" featuring rap legend KRS ONE, and "Frankenstein Saves Hip Hop" featuring production by Blockhead and a video with Crazy Legs of Rocksteady crew. Looking for a more cutting edge sensibility, Kyle is now finishing up his debut album, which was recorded in, LA, NY, and on a Liberian refugee camp in Ghana, Africa. The diversity of his experience recording the album reflects , and with the production of Belief (who has produced Beanie Sigel, Murs, Cannibal Ox, Kosha Dillz) an innovative offering will be introduced to the scene vary shortly. And so begins the era of Kyle Rapps ..
