My influences are probably the same as most Texas Musicians.
The Highway Men of course(Cash, Willie, Waylon, Kristofferson), Dylan
Asleep at the Wheel, Two Tons of Steel, Ray Price, Townes Van Zandt, Hendricks, SRV, Todd Snider, Hayes Carll, John Evans, The Flatlanders, The Grateful Dead, John Prine, Jon Hiatt, Skynard, Zepplin, Hank(I, II, III), Kevin Welch, Van Morrison, The Doors, Monte Montgomery, Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats, Sam Bush, BR-549, Merle Haggard, Big John Mills, Walt Wilkins, Mike Blakely, the list goes on and is quite diverse.
To tell the truth, nearly every artist I've come across has had some effect on my music, for good or ill.

Think a cross between Lyle Lovett and Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats with a touch of Van Morrison thrown in for good luck. My style is very fluid and I think that is why people enjoy it. There is a good mix of swing and blues combined with folk songwriting. Whatever it is, it seems to work for me.
I grew up in Spring, Tx just north of Houston. I went to College in San Marcos, Tx before hitting the road. I have lived all over Texas, as well as New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Alabama. I have been lucky enough to perform in all the above as well as the Gulf Coast region, and recently Europe (with the amazing Kim Carson). My mother has always called me a gypsy, and I have strived to make my music reflect that. I travel around with my band the Texas Hammers, and play lead guitar for several bands in Texas such as Bodie Powell and the Borderline Band, The Casey Thompson Band, Randy Lefan and Fool's Gold, and of course the Kim Carson Band. I have two albums out right now, and a third is written and in pre-production, which I hope to have done by September. I hope you enjoy what you hear, and if you do, look me up sometime down the road.

Saw a great quote the other day. ”Townes Van Zandt is the best songwriter in the whole world and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say that. ” - Steve Earle
Bouncing my calendar off yours to see when I can see you in Ft. Worth, but I'll see you soon.
Our newest recording is under way. It will be full of new songs you may have heard us play already and a few brand new rock songs that are completely different from anything we have done before. We should have discs in hand for sale at the end of Spring. Once a firm release date is set, we will be having a CD release party at a venue in the Houston area that supports original music! Keep checking our page for more updates.
