FOR LADIES-
The women's clothing collection is complete, spanning the 1890s-1980s, and marvelous in virtually every category. There are a large number of dresses, including evening gowns, the majority from the 40s-50s-60s are available. The moderately large collection of suits is exquisite, and always includes a selection of LilliAnn creations. For cool evenings there is an elegant selection of coats and furs.
For those warm summer days there is excellent selection os cotton sun dresses and vintage swim suits, including some very collectible Hawaiian prints. A cluster of wedding gowns create a wall display. The lingerie is of superb quality, with many silk pieces, bullet bras, girdles, and even the occasional corset.
Accessories abound, with expressive hats in all colors and sizes, and a big display of shoes, including some dead-stock, and a custom line of 1940s reproduction wedges and platforms. A dazzling assortment of purses, including a large selection of 1920s beaded and 1950s lucite purses. Four huge, well stocked jewelery cases complement the
collection!
FOR MEN-
Even a gentleman of larger proportions could walk in unclothed and leave impeccably dressed--without losing his shirt. There is a large selection of superb suits, sport coats, as well as vests, and fine dress over coats and capes. All ranging from the 1890s-1980s. Trousers are fully covered, including a few knickers. The formal collection is complete, including top hats and spats, and everything in between. High quality shirts, ruffled tux to gab western, a few detachable collars are available. Along with glamorous smoking jackets and fine gabardine items from the 1940s and 1950s.
The collection of accessories is impressive with ties grouped by decade 1920s-1970s. The men's hat collection is large with a nice selection of European and American styles.
Some six/+ dozen period shoes abound, including cowboy boots, reproduction two-tone wingtips, and several pairs of antique spats. Also notable is the large selection of cuff links, cigarette cases, and nice reproduction flasks.
La Rosa is the enclave of quality vintage fashion in the counter-fashion Haight-Ashbury. Now a venerable institution at age 30, opening in 1978. La Rosa soon became "irresistible" to vintage connoisseurs, and still is to this day!
La Rosa's ambiance is evocative of the best of bygone eras with artistic displays suggesting the Western ranch, ocean-liner voyages, intrepid expeditions, cocktail parties, grand balls, and afternoon teas.
