一般1) The Update Publication - This publication is distributed to anyone interested in recieving a copy for $1 and free to prisoners. The Update includes reports about each chapter of the Federation and the Warchest program, International News, Prisoner News and articles. Our chapter is responsible for it's design/layout, production and mailing. Image hosted by Photobucket.com2) The Table - We run a distribution table that you might see at cultural/political events throughout Los Angeles. We offer free and "for sale" pamphlets, books, fliers, films and wearables relative to the PPs/POWs we support, as well as the movements they come from. We also make an attempt to carry items that prioritize struggles for queer and trans liberation, anti-racism, radical feminism, socialism, anti-authoritarianism, revolutionary working class movements, etc. The funds from the table are primarily for the Warchest, individual PPs/POWs and maintaining the table itself. Image hosted by Photobucket.com3) Running Down The Walls - This is an annual run we organize, which has raised over $2,000 for the Warchest and other projects initiated by LA-ABCF. In the first several years, runs have taken place in prisons and other cities in solidarity with the run here in L.A. The run has been an excellent tool for organizing and expanding membership. Prisoners such as Bill Dunne and Jaan Laaman have played an active role in helping us with these runs, as well as individuals like Sara Jane Olson, prior to her sentencing, having participated in the 2001 run. The next run is scheduled for September 8, 2007. For more information, please view our site ar : www.abcf.net/la Image hosted by Photobucket.com4) Writing Prisoners - Each member of the collective is obligated to maintain relationships with Political Prisoners through letters, phone calls, and/or potential visits. Please go to http://www.abcf.com for a list of Political Prisoners in the U.S., their current addresses and short biographies, if you wish to write them.

   LA-ABCF 的自我介紹
關於我:
The Los Angeles Anarchist Black Cross formed in January 1998 by members of the Alternative Gathering Collective, Black Star Collective and the Whittier Chapter of Food Not Bombs. By October of the same year, the Los Angeles organization became a chapter of the Anarchist Black Cross Federation. The aim of the Federation is to focus on the overall support and defense of Political Prisoners (PPs) and Prisoners of War (POWs) in the United States. Our main vehicle for monetary support is the Warchest program. Since it's inception in 1994, we have raised $46,500 for various PPs/POWs. The ABCF is a non-profit, membership organization with chapters both in the United States and Canada, in solidarity with autonomous Anarchist Black Cross collectives and networks internationally. For more information, please visit our local website http://www.abcf.net/la and our Federation website http://www.abcf.net

AdvoCare's Family and Youth Defense Fund is established as a legal defense fund using AdvoCare's current tax exempt status and charitable purpose under their Family Bound program. The purpose of the fund would be to provide assistance in general actions, individual cases, or for filing amicus briefs where the outcome of such cases may effect our members and the general public in areas related to our organizations charitable purpose, goals, and description of activities. The fund, and all donations to the fund, would be governed and administered under the direction of AdvoCare's Board of Directors.

Your contributions are certainly needed and appreciated.

Oregon prison springs eco-saboteur 'Free' by mistake, then takes him back
By Bryan Denson, The Oregonian
October 02, 2009, 4:39PM
The man who drew the longest prison sentence in U.S. history for eco-sabotage walked out of prison this morning. After years of appeals, Jeffrey M. Luers, known to Eugene’s anarchist clan as “Free,” was just that.
But just as quickly, he was sent back to prison.
The Oregon Department of Corrections acknowledged today that it mistakenly allowed Luers to take advantage of a new law, House Bill 3508, which grants reduced sentences for certain classes of inmates. Luers’ sentence for arson made him ineligible for early release, said prisons spokeswoman Jennifer Black, in Salem.
“It’s a mistake we wish hadn’t happened,” she said. “We’re reviewing processes and hoping that it just does not happen again.”
Luers was released from Columbia River Correctional Institution in Northeast Portland this morning and given 24 hours to check in with his parole officer in Lane County. He checked in this afternoon, where he learned of the error.
Authorities took the 30-year-old radical environmentalist back to prison, a rude reversal for those who worked years to get Luers out.
The day began with Luers’ supporters writing on the Friends of Jeff Luers Web site: “We are still pinching ourselves.”
Luers’ appellate lawyer in Salem, Shawn Wiley, weighed in with an e-mail comment to The Oregonian: “This day is long overdue. Jeff is a kind, thoughtful, intelligent young man, and our community benefits much more from his presence in it rather than behind bars."
But their joy was short lived.
Luers' saga began in 2001, when Lane County Circuit Judge Lyle Velure sentenced him to 22 years, 8 months in prison after finding him guilty of two crimes in Eugene -- attempting to set fire to a gasoline tanker owned by a petroleum distributor, then firebombing

Emergency Response To Oso Blanco's Horrible Treatment

Oso Blanco is an indigenous (Wolf Clan Cherokee/Choctaw) political
prisoner currently serving 80 years for expropriating money from banks
and sending the funds to the Zapatistas to fund their campaign and feed
children. He escaped on December 21 2000 to spread awareness on the
conditions of political prisoners through call ins at a radio show,
since he has been recaptured and has been  subjected to even worse
treatment.

We are going be having a call in day/week of letter writing in response
to Oso's treatment which has so far included beatings, gassing,
transfer with the intent of having him murdered by hostile inmates,
lockdowns, write ups, heat exhaustion, added time (6 months for hanging
a towel as to avoid mold), forecfully cutting the circulation to areas
of his body over periods of time, mail tampering, and being denied
medical treatment among other things. I have already sent out a message
to Oso informing him that I am mobilizing support for this action. I
need the o.k. from Oso but if no correspondance is received by Monday,
October 5, 2009 we will begin the action. Please inform everyone you
know that is interested in supporting Oso Blanco against torture, and
let's be absolutely ready to call in. If we get word sooner I'll let
everyone know, if not the day is again October 5th, 2009. Spread the
word! Please be ready to help with calls and letter writing as well!

We will not forget about Oso Blanco!

”Words are only garments of
deeds. Stop talking and start doing.” - Oso
Blanco

What have you done for
our people lately?

DO
YOU...

 ...consider yourself indigenous? Native
American? Mexica? Nahua? Ixachilacah? Is this a part of your identity
and do you consider yourself a part of a greater indigenous movement?
If you do, this may be for you. Keep reading.
DO
YOU...

...take the time to consider, support, and mend
the relationships all of all people native to the Americas? Did you
know that in 1994 in response to the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA) The Zapatistas emerged out of the Lacandon Jungle
declaring a message of hope for people facing displacement by the
policy's effects on Mexico? Do you support the Zapatistas?
DO
YOU...

...know who Byron Chubbuck is? Byron Chubbuck
who's Indian name is Yona Unaga, or as he is used to growing up in
the Southwest, "Oso Blanco" is currently serving 80 years
in prison for helping indigenous people in Southern Mexico.
Nicknamed "Robbin the Hood" by the FBI Oso exproriated over
100,00 dollars from over 14 different banks in order to support
indigenous people in Southern Mexico. Oso Blanco's ethnicity is
currently listed as "White" and his requests for a sacred
pipe and sweat lodge participation have been denied. Most people are
not willing to exproriate money from banks, even for a good cause.
But, will you support someone who has?
How to
help

Oso Blanco needs all the support he can get, and
writing to him is a huge way to show your support and send some love
to him. Please take the following into consideration:

DO: Remember that all mail is read by
prison authorities
DO: Remember to let Oso Blanco know that you
will keep him in your thoughts
DO NOT: Commit or promise things
you cannot keep.
DO NOT: Romanticize Oso Blanco or any political
prisoner.

REMEMBER
It
is important to continue to support our jailed sisters and brothers,
if not, then face the shame of knowing that we allowed our comrades
to be forgotten. Recently freed Black Liberation prisoner Ojore
Lutalo said "Any movement that does not support its political
internees is a sham movement," what are you doing about
it?
