Mysterious, mystical even esoterical, the name of this Parisian band performing at the crossroads of trip-hop, atmospheric metal-indus and ambient dark corresponds to its intriguing and striking music. Indeed, laamdatun has been for three years now blending a sophisticated musical cocktail, taking a cunning pleasure in interweaving cold and beats of the machines, the sharpness of the guitars and the ethereal sensuality of the melodies. The compositions of the group appear somber, strange and stupefying even ecstatic but always worrying. The introspective and feverish lyrics accentuate the demons of each of the members of the group recollecting pain, regret, dependency, running away, evasion, solitude, bitterness, sorrow or fleeting time obsession. In the spirit of artistic collective and in a approach involving research and experimentation, each of the musicians develops his ideas on different instruments. The on-stage set is nevertheless fixed in this way : Nhi takes care of the guitar and lead vocals, placing his smooth voice both controlled and fragile – in the emotional sense of the word – on the refined electro recordings of lihp. Tuco provides the rhythmic and solid foundations, his wrapping and noticeable bass infuses a deep-rooted and unstoppable groove while Rezlo imposes his metronome-like regularity on the drums. Playing several instruments like the other members of the band, he also takes to keyboards and programming. A maturity, rare and surprising in such a young group, arises from the diversity of these four strong musical personalities.; Nhi, lihp, Tuco and Rezlo have been places and hung out at rehearsal and recording studios and it shows. Going against the flow, outside the boundaries of fashion, diabolically independent, laamdatun invites the listener on a real journey of the senses. So let yourself be swept away and enter the trance.

En effet, laamdatün concocte depuis trois ans maintenant une matière sonore sophistiquée en prenant un malin plaisir à entrelacer sonorités froides et millimétrées des machines, abrasivité des guitares et sensualité éthérée des mélodies. Les compos du groupe se révèlent sombres, étranges, planantes (voire extatiques) mais toujours inquiétantes. Les paroles, introspectives et fiévreuses, exacerbent le versant angoissé des titres, titillant les démons de chacun des membres du groupe, évoquant la douleur, le regret, la dépendance, la fuite, la solitude, l'amertume, la mélancolie ou l'obsession du temps qui fuit.
Dans un esprit de collectif artistique et dans une démarche de recherche et d'expérimentation (certaines des compos flirtent même avec le bruitisme), chacun des musiciens développe ses idées sur divers instruments. La formation scénique se fige néanmoins ainsi : Nhi se charge de la guitare et du chant, posant sa voix moelleuse, à la fois parfaitement maîtrisée et fragile - au sens émotionnel du terme - sur les programmations electro léchées de lihp, également à la six-cordes dans laamdatün. Les fondations rythmiques, inébranlables, sont assurées par Tuco, dont la basse enveloppante et bien présente insuffle un groove viscéral et imparable, et Rezlo, qui inocule à la batterie sa régularité métronomique. Polyinstrumentiste comme les autres membres du groupes, ce dernier s'adonne également au clavier et à la programmation.
De la diversité de ces quatre personnalités musicales en acier trempé émane une maturité rare et bluffante pour un groupe si jeune. A contre-courant, hors-mode et diaboliquement singulier, laamdatün invite l'auditeur à un véritable voyage sensoriel.
