Founded in the fall of 2004,Labtoy Music was created out of the ashes of the band N Y X's
home studio Wetwire Labs. Founded by N Y X himself and longtime friend and artist Trudge,
Labtoy was created with the sole purpose of bringing Indvstrial Music back to its home the MidWest. Ever since the close of Chicago's Wax Trax! records not only has the midwest but the entire country has been in need of a strong Indvstrial driven label. With many labels around the world adapting to the four 4 beat European imitation of the genre,N Y X felt it was time for change to bring indvstrial back to its roots and to challenge the so called Indvstrial/Electronic labels of today by delivering artists and projects that not only incorporate what bands like Skinny Puppy,KMFDM,and others started but to take it to the next level and show that electronic music is not just a dance beat and distorted vocal,but something more personal and artistic. Labtoy's first crop of artists and projects have started to gain recognition and momentum.And with the partnership of the Michigan based Slave Indvstries only time will tell who will fall and who will be left standing.
In 2004 Labtoy signed electro/redneck dance guru the appendage. delivering a 6 song E.P.,
counteroffer,as well as signing Trudge and the ever clever sometimes obsurd style of Civic TV Channel 83 which features Tony Collins (a.k.a the appendage) ,Dick Richards,and Charlie Nobody three guys with a fetish for sample manipulation,penis envy and obsurd song writing with influences of My Life with the thrill Kill Kult and Revco thrown in ,Civic TV should be turning heads and making old women run in terror very soon.
In the fall of 2008 Labtoy will release the 2nd album from Electro Aggressor N Y X. 2009 will also see the follow up to 'the appendage.'s' counteroffer E.P. with a 17 track fragment entitled "Redneck Psycho" as well as releases from CTV83, Trudge and a second volume of the disturbing Evil Sinema Compilation.
Labtoy is ever growing and constantly looking for new ways to challenge the 4/four beat monster.
