DJ/Remixer LAC
He was born in 1984, in Florianópolis, south of Brazil. His first
contact with electronic music when he was 16 years old.
This contact has not only remained in his fondness of House Music.
Right after following the works of several DJs, he began to get highly
interested in the Club Music performing. His carrer began halfway through 2005,
in the most traditional gay club from Santa Catarina's capital (which is
Florianópolis): the Concorde Club.
As a DJ he has also performed at the clubs La Luna (SC), Mecenas
(SC), Box (PR), Higher (SC), Cine Theatro (RS), Gáss (PR) and he was the
resident DJ for two year at the the Label Party Troy! House Sex & Fetish.This
same year, LAC, as he is known, set out his first steps to become a producer,
starting a new phase in his carreer.
In 2005 he was invinted to be part of a new project with the
extinct Drag/Dj/Producer Marcella Holloway in São Paulo, when they formed the
duo 'LAC and Marcella Holloway'. In 2007 a new partnership is formed with the
DJ/Producer William Mess (SP).
Lac has in his set the subgenres of House Music: The Club, genre
that mixes the roots of house music, striking vocals, agressive and harmonic
keyboard tunes; and Tribal, genre that came from the House Music, but which
presents in its basic elements african or native rhythms, making a mix of
hallucinating sounds, which can make the dance floor go crazy. Tribal or Tribe
has strong and remarkable beats, yet less repetitive, at times with striking
vocals. The main elements of the genre are : tambours, little drums (atabaques),
berimbau (a musical instrument consisting of a wire string attached to a
flexible kow and gourd that is plucked either by a coin or the finger or hit
with a small stick), thus percussion intruments in general.
He has already played and remixed acknowledged artists as Sabrina
Johnston, Alan T, India, Lindsay Lohan, Tramaine Hawkins, Ultra Naté, Denise,
Maya, Veronica, Suzanne Palmer, Nelly Furtado, Inaya Day, Akram, Aretha Franklin
among others.
DJ/Remixer William Mess
He admits that when he got started as a Drag Queen, he already had
in his mind the dream of one day getting to the command of the DJ booth of a
dance club.
Marcella Holloway, William Mess alter ego. He had used this surname
to pay homage to the American diva Loleatta Holloway, gospel singer who recorded
hits like “Stand Up”, “You got me burning up” “Share My Joy” and “What goes
around comes around”.
William Mess, São Paulo’s nightlife guest for more than 10 years,
had started his carrer in 1995 at the Rave Club in São Paulo, where he
oficialized as a DJ. In 2002, began one more phase in his carrer, as a remixer,
becoming DJ/Producer. Since then, several partnerships were established, the
longest of them with the DJ/Producer LAC, making the LAC and William Mess
Project.

William Mess has been working with the best singers of the American
house music scene. In his hands many artists have been worked : 666, Alan T,
Aretha Franklin, Barbara Tucker, Cyndi Lauper, Dana Internacional, Deborah Cox,
Destiny's Child, Emma Nadine, Evelin, Evelyn Thomas, Inaya Day, India, Jocelyn
Bronw, Kevin Aviance, Kim Cooper, Lindsay Lohan, Lisa Millett, Loleatta
Holloway, Maya, Nelly Furtado, Sabrina Johnson, Simone Denny, Suzanne Palmer,
Sweet Pussy Pauline, Taana Gardner, The Lady, Una Mas, Yanka D'Parllo.
