La Catedral Studios is a space for the arts in a raw Victorian industrial building located at the heart of one of Dublin's oldest quarters, the Liberties. Named after a Milonga venue in Buenos Aires, La Catedral Studios now houses 24 artists' studios and a multidisciplinary space (the Back Loft) for artistic and creative projects.
Established in 2005 by Antonella Scanu and Costanzo Idini, La Catedral Studios is a veritable labour of love by its proprietors and an army of friends who worked on the painstaking restoration of a derelict space to its former glory. It offers both a creatively inspiring forum to work in conjunction with other artists, and a space where art making and its creative process is as important as the finished work itself.
