About me:

We are a small independent amateur theatre, located in the centre of Nottingham. The Theatre has a good reputation for its varied programme of modern and traditional drama, comedy and occasional musical, produced to a high standard by its members.

Our aims include;
To perform works that challenges the cast, crew and audience in some way.
To provide the opportunity to see shows locally, that ordinarily would not be available. (e.g. Some of the smaller West End shows that haven’t toured.)
To enhance the skills, self-confidence and esteem of our members through the experience of helping to run a small inner-city commercial theatre.
To preserve our historic Grade II listed building.

Facilities
We own our theatre which houses a 118 seat Auditorium and separate Studio space for performances. The Studio also houses small Art exhibitions during the main house shows. Please contact the theatre for further details.

We operate a licensed bar which is open to our members during non-show week nights as well as for performances.

Membership
Members can get involved in all areas of running the theatre.

Acting, Directing, Designing, Stage Management, Props.
Lighting and Sound - Design and Operation.
Building/Painting Sets and Taking them down.
Costume Making and Hire.
The Licensed Bar and Coffee Bar.
Box Office, Publicity and Front of House Teams.
Programme Advisory Committee.

Poetry and Prose & Writer’s Groups
These are special groups that meet throughout the year to provide a supportive atmosphere to share and discuss ideas.

Your contribution will be warmly received and much appreciated. Membership also entitles you to reduced ticket prices and hire rates, newsletters, and the opportunity to purchase a Members Season Ticket.

If you can spare the odd evening every few months, then joining one (or more) of the Rota’s can be an enjoyable way to meet other members without the commitment of a rehearsal period. Training will be provided as required

It takes a lot of people to run a theatre, and new members are always welcome. If you want to learn something new, do something creative, be part of a community and even improve your job prospects, we’re here.

Membership Prices
Subscription rates for the 2009-2010 season are:
Individual £40, Joint £70, Concession £30.

The members’ season ticket is £50.
It entitles you to one ticket for each of the seasons inhouse productions, excluding the Fent Festival.

If you are interested in joining, you can pop down to the theatre any weekday evening when we don't have a show on. There's always a duty officer about who can show you round and answer any questions you may have. New Members Evenings are also held, please check the calendar for the next one. Hiring
Costume
The Theatre has an amazing range of Costume for every period and type - formal or trendy, uniforms and a wonderful choice of evening dresses. We supply other theatres, schools, colleges, promotions, photo shoots, parties and weddings at a very reasonable price.

We understand the practicalities of using costume on stage, the need for quick changes and the WOW factor. We can also advise on appropriate period details.

If you’re stuck on a particular prop or piece of set dressing, drop us an email in case we can help.
