О себе: The Los Angeles Unity Coalition (LACUC) is part of a regional three county human trafficking outreach campaign spearheaded by the Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition (BSCC), based in San Diego County.
In October 2006, BSCC won a contract with US Department of Health & Human Services under its national “Rescue & Restore” outreach campaign (www.rescueandrestore.org). This contract links the outreach efforts of the three counties’ coalitions.
• San Diego County - Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition
• Los Angeles County - Los Angeles County Unity Coalition
• Orange County - Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force
Each coalition is comprised of 20-60 government agencies; nongovernmental organizations (NGOs); law enforcement; and individuals that work together to best address human trafficking in Southern California. Each coalition does trainings and community events focused on educating the public on human trafficking in the Southern California area. Additionally, the three groups are charged with distributing funds over the three county areas.
Currently LACUC has over 200 members (NGOs and individuals) within its coalition. Each Coalition is chaired by a local NGO . The chair of the organization is selected by a grants process for an annual or biennial term. Our current Chair is Captive Daughters, headed by Sandra Hunnicutt.
Walk over to DWC (Downtown Women's Center) to do outreach and on my way there I saw homeless people sitting at the park...been forgotten is one of the worst ways to die...solitude is a killer, just like conscience. Compassion helps us heal our inner selves and people sourrinding us.
The one who takes a chance, who walks the line between the known and the unknown, who is unafraid of failure, will succeed.”
