Le groupe Lacrimae Mortalium fut créé un soir glacial de février 2003 lors d'une rencontre entre Gabriel "Cebrail" Lanthier, Pierre-Luc "Demogorgon" Laberge et Maxime "Hadez" Mignault.
À l'automne de cette même année, le nouveau groupe enregistra une maquette. Ils firent appel à "Alkin", membre de Profugus Mortis à l'époque, pour combler le poste de chanteur. Cette démo devint alors disponible en juillet 2004.
Par la suite, le trio chercha de nouveaux membres pour compléter leur formation. À l'automne 2004, Maxime Bellerose s'associa au groupe comme deuxième guitariste et à l'été 2006, Maxime "SlavaZ" Mariani se joint à la formation comme chanteur. Puis, Lacrimae Mortalium donna quelques concerts à Montréal et à travers le Québec.
Après avoir partagé la scène avec divers groupes locaux tels que Longing for Dawn, Towards Darkness, Profugus Mortis, Obscurcis Romancia et fait la première parti de Moonsorrow, le groupe commenca en fin de 2007 l'enregistrement de son premier opus "L'Ange de Glace" sous la responsabilité de Pierre-Hugues Rondeau (A Perfect Murder, Frozen).
En décembre 2008, deux membres fondateurs (Cebrail et Hadez) quittèrent la formation. Ils furent remplacés respectivement par Nicolas Desparois aux percussions et William "Noctifer Morkan" Jasmin à la basse.
En cette année 2009, l'enregistrement du premier album est enfin complété. C'est Pierre Rémillard (Cryptopsy, Krisiun) qui finalise le tout.
The group Lacrimae Mortalium was created in a meeting which occurred in an icy evening in February 2003 with Gabriel "Cebrail" Lanthier, Pierre-Luc "Demogorgon" Laberge and Maxime "Hadez" Mignault.
In autumn of the same year, the new group recorded a demo. They asked "Alkin", a member of Profugus Mortis, to fulfill the task of singer in the demo, which became available in July 2004.
Thereafter, the band was seeking new members to complete their line-up. In autumn 2004, Maxime Bellerose joined the group as a second guitarist and in summer 2006, Maxime "SlavaZ" Mariani joined the band as a singer. Then, Lacrimae Mortalium gave some concerts in Montreal and through Quebec.
After having shared the stage with various local groups such as Longing for Dawn, Towards Darkness, Profugus Mortis, Obscurcis Romancia and after being the opening group for Moonsorrow, the group started recording its first opus called "L’Ange de Glace" at the end of 2007. The album was made under the responsibility of Pierre-Hugues Rondeau (A Perfect Murder, Frozen).
In December 2008, two founding members (Cebrail and Hadez) left the formation. They were replaced respectively by Nicolas Desparois on drums and William "Noctifer Morkan" Jasmin on bass.
In 2009, the recording of our first album is now finished. It is Pierre Rémillard (Cryptopsy, Krisiun) who completed the ending process of the album.
