About me:
Welcome to the online blog of artist Lacye Swilley!
My methods of choice are drawing, painting, and printmaking. I am an artist. My studio is currently based out of Edmond, Oklahoma.
I earned my Master of Fine Arts from Memphis College of Art in Memphis, Tennessee in 2007. During that time, I began my works with painted room installations. I also have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. While at Tech, I was honored with the 2005 Outstanding Art Student Award.
My artwork is currently focusing on the pyschological aspects of personal landscapes. I love to work with the "idea" of bone because of its never-ending structure.
I currently work as an art instructor/lecturer at University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Christian University, and Oklahoma City Community College. I also have been a private art instructor as well as Adjuct Instructor at MidSouth Community College in West Memphis, Arkansas. I also have been a Teaching Assistant at Memphis College of Art, in the Drawing and Foundations departments. One can currently see my artwork at the South Arkansas Medical Associates in El Dorado, Arkansas.
