About me:
I have many faces. Which one would you care to see? Would the safe face, the one I show the world suffice? Very well.
I am S D McDaniel. I live in North Carolina, with my husband, Scott, and my two boys, Vincent and Devon.
I have been writing poetry and short story fiction ever since I can remember. My childhood was less than perfect, but then again, isn't every childhood this way? I am a Christian, though I do not agree with machinations of the organized Church.
Or would you rather peak into the faces I hide from the world... the faces that very few ever see? Be careful what you wish for...
Some know me as LadieStorm. I lurk in the dark places, revel in the shadows. Through my writing, I bind my magic into the fabric of space and time. I embrace the darkness, knowing that there is no light without shadow... there is no good, without understanding evil... I take my energy from the storms that are my namesake... I revel in their existance...
Or perhaps you want to see the face of the nomad, the gypsy? I look at the arcane, and understand it... I search dreams for the answers in my life. I comune with the spirits and feel that the earth has many lessons that we can learn from. I find a better place with the earth, than I do with Mankind that would destroy it...
So which of my many faces do you really wish to see?
Winter Returns
Think these dark days of autum rain,
when will the Mistress walk again?
a midst the hues I fail to hold
branding them in pure, burnished gold.
When shall the Mistress' feet transpire
the cool fresh greens to powdered fire?
when silver linings fade to gray
and darkness overrides the day.
When summer utters it's last breath,
and crimson falls the leaves in death,
Mistress will rise and call to me,
as frosty northern winds blow free.
When Mistress Winter treads once more,
upon waking November shores,
colors will fade, earth's warmth I drain,
thinks these dark days of autum rain.

The Twin In the Mirror
Same flesh, blood, petite size,
yet opposing filaments condemn.
Gazing at her, the beautiful one,
blue jet tresses - precice curls,
mocking my unkempt frizz.
Luminesce emeralds of intelligence,
disdaining my algae colored orbs.
I turn away - battling
dominatrix I crave to be,
even as I acquiesce, subservant.
Hating and loving - needing, dispising,
still, her insessant whispers commanding.
Bending my spirit, cowering before her,
she errodes my resolve and leaves.
Solitude, finally, for my thoughts.
Joined by purpose I yearn to escape,
she owns me until scheme's complete.
Her havoc I will gloss, as times before,
saving myself accusations, non belief.
All they ever see is me...
Some day I will crack that mirror,
and be free...
